Between Zach and OG because they have the most trade value. I went with Zach because of the lack of injury concerns and the fact that he's already a decent shooter.

I feel like Zach is the best prospect left on the board ... but he's absolutely not a guy I would be excited about the Hornets drafting.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I really think these will be our choices. I can't see any of the ten we've already eliminated being there at 11. So it's Zach, Kennard, or Mitchell.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

One of those 10 will fall, someone like Smith or Issacs, and we will take John Collins instead. Its the Hornets way.

I went with Mitchell. I think you can also make a good case for OG and Collins. I have those three essentially tied. Kennard might also belong in the discussion.

This would basically be our worst case, though I have a hard time seeing only one big man going in the top ten.

Still, in this scenario I'm torn in a couple directions. Zach Collins is the BPA, and I've said repeatedly we need to add talent above all else, but I could see us going for a wing here.

Not sold on any of them, but if I had to pick I'd choose Mitchell. He's undersized, but has crazy measurables and is a great athlete as well. I'd probably go with both he and OG over the local guys.

But again, I'm conflicted as to whether I'd pick any of them over Collins.

I'll be shocked if the top 10 falls exactly like our big board come draft night. There will be at least 1 player to rise into the top 10 over next 3 weeks. Only takes one front office to fall in love with a player or one bit of questionable news for a player to drop.

That being said, I'm at the point now where I have talked myself into being OK with pretty much any of the guys in our range. I see pros and cons in each of them. I don't watch enough college hoops to have previously fallen in love or have a hate for any of them.

For me, it would probably come down to the interviews, mentality, off-the-court stuff that would help make my decision (but we don't have all that info).

Narrowed my focus to 4 players here - OG, Kennard, Mitchell and Zach - with an eye on J Collins, Giles, J Jackson and Jeanne.

Biggest need, as I see it -
1. two way wing, preferably on the bigger side 3/4 rather than 2/3
2. combo guard who can play PG, but with size to play next to Kemba
3. rim protection
4. other one-way specialists - 3pt shooters, defenders

Prioritize someone who can contribution sooner than later, but not totally at expense of ignoring upside.

I don't see any sure two way wings with size, maybe Jackson, but he's out of the 4 player tier. Stay in tier and draft best fit among tier.
Maybe Mitchell and maybe Kennard fit the combo guard with size, questions for both
Zach has some rim protection
Luke and OG appear to be one-way specialists, at least for now.
Prioritizing sooner than later hurts OG and maybe Zach, helps Mitchell and Kennard.
Zach and OG probably have highest upside, but lowest floor.

I'm really fine with any of those 4, but currently leaning Mitchell, followed by Kennard, then Zach, then OG

Going with Zach, closest thing to a true 2way player.

Probably going Luke next.

My head is telling me Z. Collins.

My heart is saying OG.

They're compromising on Kennard.

This is pretty much where I'm at, except my heart likes Mitchell and OG fairly equally.

it would be nice if Collins and Frank could make Marv redundant so we could trade him for a need, but we're not going to get that from a rookie are we?

I don't hate Marv, he just might be able to fetch something in a trade

I'm with u man...here's where I'm struggling, I'm only liking like 7 guys in this draft. At 11, I don't think any of these guys does anything for us. Because of that, I kinda want to blow the entire thing up. The other part of me wants to make a big gutsy trade for a win now guy that includes #11...even tho I know we wouldn't win it in the next several years due to the Warriors and Cavs, it'd still be more exciting than this current roster. This past season was so deflating.

With all that said, we need wings. I think Mitchell is too small. Luke scares me defensively but I'm leaning towards him

If this is how the draft falls, we need to work the phones and see if a team like the Blazers or Jazz want to trade up to 11 and what they'd offer. None of the players excite me at 11.

Here's how we know who the Hornets will pick. I'm willing to bet that at least one of the our current top 10 on our big board will still be available when we pick. All Hornets fans will be super excited to draft which ever player from the top 10 has fallen. Then, in a surprise move (or not surprise move), the Hornets will pick someone else. So ask yourself, which other player that the Hornets could pick would elicit the biggest negative reaction among fans and national media?

For example, lets say at least one of DSJ, Frank Jr, Monk, Issac or Lauri drops to 11. Which player that we could pick instead of the guy who dropped would set you into a hulk rage? Justin Jackson? Kennard? Giles? Zach? John Collins? Which player would create the worst reaction from the talking heads at the draft? Which player would have everyone on the local radio flipping out about Jordan and Cho? I'm leaning Jackson or Kennard, due to the added UNC/Duke factor. So Jackson or Kennard is my guess for who the Hornets will pick.

Jackson. He would get worse reaction than frank got.
