Has anyone heard for sure what number he's going to wear? I was thinking about buying a custom jersey but I would be so mad at myself if I ended up buying one with the wrong number. I keep seeing number 1 but I'm not sure if that's just because he was our first round pick or if that's the number he chose.

Yes, it was as I predicted. Now someone needs to make an iron-on that perfectly covers up "STEPHENSON" with "MONK" in white, purple and teal.

Wasn't Courtney Lee #1 also? Was he here long enough to have a jersey for sell?

I heard an announcer say that Monk was going to play in Vegas. Is this true? I haven't seen any confirmation on any of the Hornets pages.

He's so much more than a "one dimensional scorer" though

We didn't last summer. Maybe we do this summer just to give him some run, but my guess is we're doing the same as last summer.

That Vegas championship run really killed our teams enthusiasm for playing in the Vegas. They all thought we were out there way too long. Probably got tired of watching PJ hoist and clank jumper after jumper.

Don't think we're scheduled for any other games, but he could feasibly play for a different team there. Maybe with the Pelicans as Diallo spent some time with the Swarm.

was that comment about Monk playing in Vegas from the 1st summer league game? They announcers said something about Vegas relating to Monk in that game vs Magic. But, it sounded more like they were confusing him with Dennis Smith Jr.

That's probably it. Announcers rarely care about accuracy. They probably got thrown by the Carolina connection.

$1000 or what is behind door #1?

mitchell looks really good. his pg game needs some work, but at worst he can easily function as a backup pg, 2nd ball handler, primary wing defender and possible starting sg. his floor is high.

so, now that we've had a chance to see more of mitchell and not having seen monk at all, would anyone take the sure thing in mitchell over the unknown in monk? i assume nobody is at that point yet, right? closer than you were 2 weeks ago, right?

I know mitchell can defend at NBA level at both guard positions
I know mitchell can handle backup pg duties at NBA level
I know mitchell has NBA range
I know mitchell can become 2nd playmaker/initiator

I only know monk has NBA range. the other 3 areas are still up for debate.

I believe mitchell's floor is higher than monk's. I'm not 100% sold that he doesn't also have a higher ceiling due to his defense.

I think the mitchell monk and maybe even luke debate will be happening for many years.

the re-ranking of this draft in 2,3,5,7 years will be fun. pretty sure knicks will be regretting passing on smith jr.

For where we drafted him Monk would have to be a complete bust for me to feel bad about drafting him. Mitchell is looking good, but with what we know about him it is hard to believe that Monk would not have looked as good had he played. My man did drop 47 in a college game this year. And don't jump all over me for saying this in one of his fast break clips Malik made a move that I have only seen one person make effectively. Allen Iverson

Monk actually has a better standing reach than Mitchell and is probably the better athlete as well. Hes almost certainly a better shooter and hes a year and a half younger. I still feel good about the pick. I feel fairly confident he'll be the better player unless there are some unforeseen intangible issues.
