Good marketing from Oscar Mayer, but a massive fail in editing.

Ya know, it just struck me that I used to play the game Bases Loaded when I was a kid and I’d use the knock off LA Dodger team. My favorite fake player just happened to be a guy named Bacon.

He’s been very impressive. Just at the base level, he’s got to learn how to finish in traffic off a drive, but he’s on his way to being a solid player. His 3 ball was a pleasant surprise in preseason. I liked his interview the other day, where he said the advice he received from players was don’t get bored doing the same thing every day, it’s how you get better.

Side note: This kids face is really wack in 2K. I’m guessing he hasn’t done a face scan, but he looks like a create a player.

I think he’s a lot like Henderson was - but we didn’t burn a high pick on Bacon.

He can shoot though.

Right now as a rookie he is a average man's Tony Snell/rich man's Mickael Pietrus. I think he will max out somewhere in between Snell and Trevor Ariza. However with a little luck and hard work his ceiling is a better shooting Caron Butler.

Any of those is well worth a 2nd round pick considering how many bust.

He's got a long way to go though.

I don't get all the positive comments about this guy. I mean for a 2nd rd pick he's better than we normally do I guess but this guy's still a poor offensive player.

The quicker we get MKG and Batum back and send Bacon back to spot duty the better.

This guy seems to be in the gym a ton this summer, to me has starter upside if he can fine tune his three point shot. I like this guy and don’t think we talk about him enough.

The real value for bacon will come when he starts making his catch and shoot threes at close to 40%. If he can do that then he's a guy you can play with the starters who can defend the best wings while also not taking usage away from the other guys in the starting lineup.

Looking forward to his improvement this summer. Fits the mold of an essential new-NBA player. Just has to hit his 3's and a lot of them

I must've been less impressed with him than you guys are. He has the moves of a decent scorer, but we didn't really see much 3-point range from him at all, and his play was "meh" overall. I think he'll eventually be a rotation guy, but he feels like diet Henderson rather than someone with starter upside in what little we saw of him. Doesn't do any one thing particularly well.

Hes already just as good if not better than MKG in my eyes.

He has a midrange game, good athleticism, and he helps on the boards. If he figures out his outside shooting which I think he will then he is a really solid rotation player.

If he can be a solid two way role player, I'd say that's a good get for any second rounder

I'm just glad we kept a 2nd rounder for a change.

Just spent 40 minutes of my life watching a youtube video of Bacon playing against Nassir Little, Artest, Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis along with a few current players and draft prospects. Dude is definitely putting in work. Im intrigued to see how he progresses next season.

DB - rookie of the year for Hornets

He's a guy that is going to do well after the Kemba trade.

I think his future on this team is brighter than that of Monk. I like his confidence and game and if he has been putting in the work he should have a long career.

Bacon is really impressive. His mid-range game is crispy (pun intended), aggressive player, and he shows some flashes on defense that are promising. Along with everyone else on here, if he can consistently hit some outside shots he will no doubt be a solid rotation player. With some more experience I think he could crack the starting lineup.
