I hope so
Bacon's 90s style straight line drive game worked against GS with its porous interior but on most nights not gonna be a good fit alongside Miles and PJ, who we need to groom as our stars
Would much prefer to see Bacon come off the bench as scoring catalyst than clog up the starting five with his tunnel vision
I agree. I think the new starting lineup should be
Rozier
Monk
Miles
PJ
Zeller
I don't think Monk is a good bench guy for any reason. Not saying he would be a good starter either but it might (get him involved in the game) since he'd already be starting. I wouldn't want to start Martin either as I like his spark

Re: Welcome To Charlotte: The Dwayne Bacon Thread
I think bacon needs to see the bench again and understand he still has everything to prove.
I feel like he stop giving 100% because he is an “established” starter in the league.
Remember that car accident problem he had last year where he said “you don’t know who I am !?”.
(I might have seen that on reddit)
I still think he is skilled, but he needs to wake up.

I don't think effort is anything to do with his problems, he just sucks. His entire game is lower head and run slowly towards the basket to throw up a garbage layup. He'd be better if he was playing lazy and shooting mid range jumpers thats his only redeemable skill

Bacon could find a role as instant offence off the bench, when he's hot it works and it's handy when no one else can score.

his effort defensively is definitely a problem
and if he ran to the openings on the perimeter instead of dragging feet, then rozier wouldn't get lost in the paint without an outlet as much

Like Bacon, Caleb Martin needs to work on his jump shot form, with the legs flying around.

Experiment over, he is what he is. A junky volume scorer with loose handles and no court vision.

Re: Going Vegan: the Dwayne Bacon Thread
i just can't comprehend what happened this season. He looked really legit when he got court time last season. I had Bacon pegged as our best player going into this season. (Of course, I didn't expect Graham to blow up, and I was expecting Terry to shoot 36% and average as many assists as turnovers but still) But he looked the part of a consistent 3rd-4th option capable of providing a steady scoring punch.
I'm pretty sure the team had confidence in him and didn't bring back Lamb for the sole reason that they believed in Bacon to be just about as good as Lamb. In fact, I was hoping we'd be proactive and lock him into an extension before he broke out into a 17ppg guy and commanded Evan Fournier money or something. So glad we didn't do that.
Makes you wonder if Bacon worked on his game AT ALL this past summer. Dude's head flat out isn't in the game most of the team and he has had maybe three good games all season. It's kinda disgusting. I don't really want him back on a minimum next year.

I'm convinced that he worked on his game ... but I'm also convinced that he thought that he was going to be the man on this team and didn't work on stuff like his passing nearly enough.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I like Bac. But some guys just aren't cut out for big roles. If he can work on his perimeter defense and develop a more-rounded offensive game, he's got a role.
