Do you all think it's possible MCW plays well enough for the remainder of the season to receive another contract from us next season?

Yes. His February numbers aren't bad for a backup PG.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Ironically the bench has been the best part of the Hornets for the past month since Zeller's return. MCW has the second highest offensive net rating behind Lamb. Lamb and Zeller have the highest net ratings on the team while all of the starters including Kemba are in the negative
If the starters can get on the same page as the bench then Charlotte may have a chance to even push for up to the #6 seed in the East, but it's a lot more realistic to hope Miami continues to falter (2-8 in last 10 games)

I’ve been saying this in the game threads. The bench is really starting to play better than the starters. MKG is in a funk where he’s not really looking good offensively or defensively. Dwight’s age and back injuries might be catching up to him without mentioning him not being the sharpest knife in the drawer. Batum is Batum and careless turnovers come with that. Kemba and Marv have been playing well.
On topic tho MCW isn’t missing layups and he isn’t forcing the issue much except for when he take unnecessary jumpers just because he think he can make them. All hail to Lamb, Frank, and Zeller for why the 2nd unit is ballin lately.

Re: Hornets sign MCW
Looking at splits for MCW and MKG. It's interesting. The quick MKG aside ... yeah he's been way down this month.
MCW on the other hand ... shooting is much improved and his playing time has ticked slightly up. The most interesting split though was home vs away. He's worse at home than he is on the road with a pretty decent sample size this year. Pattern did not hold true for his previous two years, only this one.
Also whatever it is that MCW does on Saturdays, he needs to change it.

I refuse to believe MCW made that impressive driving layup against the Nets. That was Lamb and no one will convince me otherwise

Re-signing MCW would be the Bobcats-est thing ever.

I doubt MCW is re-signed. I’d be willing to bet my entire monthly salary on that.
What the GM does and who Clifford play is usually two different things. We let many of Clifford favorites go after a single season from Neal to Maxiell to Hibbert to Belinelli.
Clifford is one of those bad coaches that you gotta save from himself.

Laws of averages. I predicted sub-40% on par with his career numbers. He might shoot 50% in March on that trajectory.

Re: Hornets sign MCW
There is no excuse to bring back MCW as our only legit backup PG option next year. Sadly, his only value is defense (Cliff loves that) and he's tall (perfect for when Cliff wants to play Kemba with another PG) so I think he has a very high chance of returning.
To be honest MCW is far and away my least favorite Hornet, even more than Batum. Those two have been weighing the rest of the roster down badly on a consistent basis this year. A few nice flashes here and there don't really change my opinion much.

The most Clifford thing about that video is that when he takes his first shot, we're winning 24-21. When he finally scores, we're losing 35-26. That happens all the time. MCW checks in and I swear the other team has to stifle laughter, meanwhile Cliff looks over at MJ and says "But his defense..."

Right. When MCW came into the game we were up by 6 and by the time he left out the game we were down by like 9. It was a combination of MCW and Batum that were at fault for that. We would’ve blown the Bulls out by probably 30 if it wasn’t for that ending of the 1st and start of the 2nd quarter that almost buried our fortunes.

I still hate Ben Gordon and Gary Neal more because at least MCW is actually trying out there. At this point, I don't even hate MCW, it's just sad.

MCW seems like a decent guy, so I feel a bit bad hating on him. I don't want him back next year though.
I was going to mention Derrick Coleman as my least favorite Hornet ever, but I brushed up on his Wiki entry before posting and now I'm not sure I can say that either.

Post NBA
Coleman purchased a home in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, where he resided until 2010, when he moved to Detroit, Michigan. After the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, Coleman drove 65 miles daily to bring residents clean bottled water and eating utensils, which they did not have access to.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
