Snidely FC wrote:Yeah so I also thought Stone was a bit of a head scratcher since PG3 for this roster seems like it should be an NBA vet who can make some 3s. What I discovered was that Stone, who slipped out of the NBA because of poor shooting, has morphed into a guy who LOVES to pass. The bonus is that at 6'6 he also a good defender. If you look at his highights from GLeague last year pretty much all of them show 10-14 assists in a game. Like this:
and this:
So you're talking about a guy who has turned himself into something of a passing specialist and leader (his team won his Italian league this past year), good defender, maybe he's a better fit between natural scorers Monk and Bacon than someone like Sessions (or Donald Sloan for that matter) who just want to bury their heads and score? BTW Brian Roberts at PG3 last year was an NBA vet who can hit a 3 and sucked eggs otherwise. So, I'd be curious to see Stone, who at 28 should be near his peak, facilitate between Monk and Bacon. Stone also has a reputation as a hard worker (there is a short doc on you tube about his strength & conditioning efforts while in Denver), who could possibly help develop MCW, who happens to be the same size and have a similar skillset.
[BTW, I Tivo'd all the Hornets wins this season planning to re-watch them during the dog days of summer . . . then discovered that my daughter erased them allso I'm left trolling for Julyan Stone (ahem) highlights]

all good, I assumed it must have been something like that but it was killing me.
This morning looking at the basketball list of forums it had the last entry by yourself on the Charlotte board in a Stone thread.
I go into the Charlotte board and it wasn't there. I go back to the list and it was still there. I click the direct link, nothing happened.
felt like a conspiracy

Re: The Julyan Stone Thread
my first post in like a week and I made a dupe of something FC posted, then I deleted an entire thread by accident. I should just go back to lurking on my phone.

Will we have to pay Stone more than we would have had to pay Weber because Stone has been in the League longer?

According to spotrac.com , we're paying Stone the same amount the Lakers are paying Weber.

Re: The Julyan Stone Thread
in the short clips he definitely seems to show more offensively than Weber, the size is handy too.
Seems like a solid swap.
I'm weirdly optimistic about Stone that we may have found our diamond in the rough. Can't even overly justify it, but a big creative guard just seems perfect for our bench.
But I'm always optimistic in the off season.

Thank You (Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Again) - Julyan & The Family Stone Thread
Love his attitude and also like that we added not one but two long armed 6'6 perimeter defenders this offseason
