Well, hopefully they are right and it is 2-3 months. Still a lot of games out. I guess Lamb is now the starter, maybe Bacon? I think they should also start Frank instead of Marv with this injury. We will need the playmaking.
Monk should get some good consistent minutes now too.

Batum is good, but his absence is not going to stop this team from achieving success. Let's not forget Batum's countless 4th quarter no shows last season.

to be fair, they were the first to report the torn UCL aspect, just overstated recovery time

Meaning he'll be back playing in 6 weeks and re-injured for the season in 8.

There's a possibility that the team is lying about the recovery timeline to not hurt ticket sales. That seems to be in vogue these days, if money is involved morals go out the window.

The worst part about this is our early schedule is the much harder part of the schedule.

More than anything, this means we're absolutely hurting for a playmaker, preferably a veteran. MCW's status is up in the air, and now Nic. Can't imagine we're going to throw Monk into the fire as our backup PG, right? Is Jeremy Lamb good enough as the only ball handler on the team short of Kemba? Or are we high enough of Stone that we're ready to go into the season with him as our backup PG.

At this point, I think that we have to give Deron Williams a shot. He was total trash for Cleveland but he averaged like 13/7 for Dallas early last season. He can't be completely done, right?

By the end of pre-season, we should have a good idea whether Monk will be ready to start, or at least play major minutes, come November. I expect Lamb to be ahead of him on the depth chart, at least until New Year's.

I think two of the biggest factors in Kemba's improvement (besides the own work he's put in) was Cody replacing Al in the starting lineup and the addition of Batum with his versatility, especially being an elite wing playmaker that doesn't dominate the ball.

Now that Dwight is replacing Cody in the starting lineup and Batum is out, I wonder how much this is going to affect Kemba / our entire offense?

Nic and Marco combined for 405 Off Screen possessions last season, more than 10 teams. Stationary C&S is overrated but OS gravity is difficult to replace -- probably a bigger loss in Clifford's offense than Nic's passing. NBA rank by possessions....

6th Off Screens
10th Handoffs
33rd Pull Up FGA
36th Playmaking attempts per 100

only good thing about batum being out is more playing time for Monk.

This contract is really going to hinder us now. He may not be an effective starter going forward. This also could hurt his chances of transitioning to his more natural PF position.

I'm really glad I didn't pay for cable yet. No need now

Sucks for you guys. Another example of how the NBAs setup of guaranteed and a hard cap is the worst setup ever. Your team is just randomly destroyed when a guy taking 1/4 of your cap has a freak injury and you can't replace him.
