Our best season in recent years revolved around pace/space. That was the year Zeller ran around like a chicken with his head cut off setting screens like a wild man for everyone on the perimeter and it resulted in a 3-way tie for 3rd place in the East.
Is he still at UVA?catch20two wrote:JDR720 wrote:I would totally be fine with Jay Wright or Tony Bennett as the coach.

The man is collecting paychecks. Doesn’t help that we’re practically playing him out of position and everyone he guards or defends him is 2-3 steps faster than him. He should be a SF/PF instead of a SG/SF but blame that on Clifford for thinking it’s 2005 when they used to play every tall player that could shoot and dribble a position or two below where they’re supposed to play.
Damn shame. He's pullin a highway robbery on us.

Certainly should be Batum. MKG is still playing like a solid starter with a role. Batum is just regressing from the averagness he already was and becoming a player that’s not even worth starting anymore.

Batum is also playing hurt, so not really fair to act like he's regressing until he gets healthy.
What we know for a fact is he'll never be an efficient volume scorer and our FO was way off to ask that of him. He needs to be paired with a scoring wing option.

Yep. Wasn't MKG hurt that year too? We embraced "pace/space" when our anti-pace player (Al) and our anti-space player (MKG) went out and it worked great. our current anti players are Dwight and MKG still. need to dump them, and FYI MKG is still my favorite player on the team but he gotta go or we need someone who will play him at backup PF.
Diop wrote:catch20two wrote:Diop wrote:you can't expect him to change the whole scheme straight away.
He’s a part of it. He’s been the assistant coach the past 8 years or so.
he has been, I just don't know who much influence say he would have had with the overall schemes.
I've never been a huge fan of him as our next head coach anyhow. I want to try someone fresh and new.
Not an old retread, a younger coach. Try to find what Boston found.

All they are doing is setting picks using Dwight’s man and that guarantees a open 3 because Dwight isn’t even in the picture.
