Glad that Cho is trying though.

If he can't find a good deal for Kemba he should just let this roster be til the offseason

What Cho SHOULD do and what Cho DOES are 100 percent, always and forever, complete opposites.

Unbiased fan coming in peace:

Honestly, this is pretty good timing for you guys to blow things up given the current NBA landscape. Seems this roster has kinda hit its peak. I mean, this is the most talented Hornets/Bobcats team I can remember and it's still not working for whatever reason. So I think Cho is making a good call at trying to start the rebuild this year.

I'm not trying to start an argument but to me it's the worst time with the All-Star game here right around the corner. Heck, the NBA may as well move it again if we have a Bobcats like roster!

Having a good team for the season and hosting an All Star Game have nothing to do with one another.

It does when you're a fan of the host city. How'd you like to be fielding a team of scrubs and then the group of All stars come to your city and show you what you can only dream of?

Alright! A full arena for a weekend!

No but seriously, I'm not optimistic about ANY trades we make with a lame-duck GM manning the phone lines. There is a <1% chance Cho makes changes that significantly improves his prospects of getting a new contract. The last grains of sand are falling through his hourglass right now.

Tryna trade Batum reminds me of how the Raptors had to attach a lottery protected 1st to dump DeMarre Carroll on the Nets for Justin Hamilton just to waive him.

it reminds me of how Detroit got out of 1 single year of Ben Gordon's contract, only to sign Josh Smith with that money.

They traded us a 1st round pick that ended up at #9.

Detroit deserved to get raped during that tenure for wasting all of those years dedicated to tryna turn Stuckey into a all-star lol.

Yeah, and quite frankly, it's probably time for a new voice in the FO for the Hornets anyway.

You gotta love a GM like Myers/Morey that would be quick to fire a coach like Jackson/Mchale if they aren’t making the players play the style of play they envisioned when acquiring them. I believe Cho’s ultimate downfall was Clifford.

I agree that this was a big factor. Cliff's relationship with both Kemba and MJ made it impossible for him to do much about it as well.

Cho's failure to anticipate the shift to a 3 point focused league plays a part too as does his cap management, especially in regard to Nic.

I find this story interesting from a team dynamic viewpoint. By announcing that we're looking to trade all starters, nobody can really feel too disgruntled about it. If we were just shopping Howard, I could see him being upset.

Since all 5 are mentioned, everyone is on the hot seat and if they want to be a team, they have to start performing immediately.

This could be a mere motivation tactic and we aren't really shopping anybody but maybe Batum and Howard. Obviously, there's a price on everyone, but I question whether we are actually in desperation mode or just acting like it to see if anyone will bite.

It can go the other way too. The worse their value is, the less their next team will have to give up to get them. There is no upside in letting something like this out in the open.

No one wants MKG because he can’t shoot. If he could hit threes he would be a better version of Trevor Ariza. He will never learn if he hasn’t already.

Batum seems to be constantly injured and has lost a step on top of having one of the very worst contracts in the league. Definitely a top ten worst contract.

Would Charlotte trade Batum for Joakim Noah and Lance Thomas?

This would save the Hornets $22M overall due to Batum's contract being one year longer than Joakim's.

Ya, but Batum is at least still a functioning player.
