Figured this deserves its own thread.
I think Fizdale is my frontrunner, subject to my learning what happened such that he fell out with their FO.

Think it had more to do with Gasol. Or maybe both

I predict a ruckus between whoever comes in a Dwight, not sure if Howard would accept a lesser role or what but a trade ain't happening, nobody is gonna have a lick of interest unless the trade is super loopsided

I just remember that he did a masterful job of getting players like PJ Hairston, Troy Daniels, Lance Stephenson, etc. to somehow contribute to playoff caliber teams in the West. MEM seemed to always outperform their talent level.
Can't speak too much to his coaching philosophy, guessing he's a bit of a grinder but he also oversaw a shift in MEM from the total grinder days with ZBo to a more modern style.
I'm not super educated on him though, would like to learn more.

I feel like Jerry Stackhouse has all of the qualities Jordan wants.

He tried to implement the Pace and Space in Memphis and encouraged Gasol and Randolph to start shooting 3's when he got there. LeBron and Wade seem to like him so I think he knows how to handle a superstar's ego.

I think a Stackhouse-led staff with assistants Jeff Lebo, Hubert Davis and Jason Capel would be likely. The Queen Dome will be rockin'.

anyone but Mark Jackson or Byron Scott....
any coach is inheriting a good team that needs a little adjustments

The Hornets' record the past two seasons is identical: 36-46, 36-46. They have not been a good team by any measure.
I will agree that they have some talented & polished players under contract, namely Kemba Walker (two-time All Star), Cody Zeller, and Jeremy Lamb, plus two very talented rookies.

I don't know a ton about Fizdale, but a few google searches to Grizzlies message boards and some random other searches make me want him here.
He's young, was brought into Memphis to change the culture from 'grinding' style to a more modern, uptempo system including the 3 ball. Players not named Marc Gasol seem to like him (LeBron came to his defense after he was fired) and he has no problem putting his foot down in a respectful way.
Seems like he got the shaft in Memphis - went to the playoffs in year one, and then canned after a 7-12 start the next year with an awful roster with pedestrian levels of talent. He's won 2 championships as an Assistant in Miami as well.
I do like Stackhouse as well, but Fizdale seems like a contrast to Cliff and is patient enough to deal with Kupchak if he decides to juggle our personnel for a year or two to get the right players here.

For years I have wanted Mike Dantoni but that was before he got hired by the rockets. I want someone like that though. Somebody who likes to play fast paced fun to watch basketball. I would be excited about somebody like Steve Nash as a coach to work with Kemba.
Other wise give me a top college coach that wins consistently. There are plenty of college coaches. There is no reason we can't find someone doing impressive things without top talent.

I'm sure that would cause quite the storm.
