Was the tank commander for the Suns this past season. Like Borrego, it seems like he was brought in for his experience with player development.

Based on both coaching hirings, the rebuild might be inevitable.

Triano does have experience coaching a competitive team that then lost its star player the next season (Bosh). So yeah, that unfortunately might be good experience to bring to the table.

I have no clue what his actual strengths as a coach are, but he has international roots and was just coaching one of the youngest teams in the league.

Pure speculation coming from me, but I would say there's good reason to believe so

Triano is a good hire for you. I’ve known about him since he was with the Grizzlies in Vancouver. He lived not far from me. He’s gone from playing for Canada to coaching Canada to the pr guy for the Grizzlies to assistant for the Raptors to their head coach to assistant in Portland to assistant in Phoenix and then head coach.

I know he was highly regarded in Portland and Phoenix by the players. He relates to them well so I can see if the Hornets want him for that role.

Here's an old article from when the Suns hired Triano as an assistant.

It appears he's an offensive minded coach. Maybe that's why JB wants him, in addition to having him as a "resource."

Interesting, he had his own player development business before coming an NBA coach. Kemba was even a client.
