Hypothetical - Life after Kemba

Hypothetically, Kemba gets traded for some draft picks and filler. Do you start Monk at the point? Is Batum moved as well? Do you even try to field a competitive roster next season?

if Kemba is traded, we are headed for 3-5 years at the cellar of the league. In that scenario, we have to simply be smart and value future assets more than win-now assets. That means waiting out a couple of our bigger contracts rather than trading assets to dump them. We'd have to play the vets to boost their trade value, but more of the focus would be on developing the young guys.

Mods please delete this thread. We are not currently in discussion to trade Kemba. Why not talk about the aftermath, if the athermath actually happened.

Just spurring conversation, if you don't want to discuss, no problem. Some people around here are sensitive.

My plan of action would be to start Monk at the 1 but have nic handle the ball. Lamb gonna be leading the second unit. We probably won't even drop off that much if even. Can't believe the satisfaction with mediocrity around here.

Probably belongs under fake trade thread, but my 2 bits: Any Kemba trade will likely result in either receiving back a vet PG and/or a rookie PG currently targeted. I don’t see Monk as a starting 1.

Edited OP to make clear that this is all a hypothetical.

Some people should tone it back.

Without Kemba be are basically the same 25-34 win team and with him we're a 33-42 win team.

Given our Mozgov trade, this thread will soon lose it's "hypothetical" title
