I can see MKG being moved, but dont see how Bridges signing a shoe deal correlates

New blood signing a contract with MJ's company. Hype is going to build around Bridges while MKG sits around working on his busted jumper. Only a matter of time before Bridges takes MKG's minutes.

lol if he's getting anyone's minutes its graham's - the biggest waste of 16mpg on the roster after MCW

MKG is going to the 4 and Frank to his natural position at the 5

Put down 10 on Miles winning ROY. Chances obviously are slim but hey, 10 dollars to cheer harder for him, and I get 400 profit if he succeeds... not keeping my hopes up but cross your fingers for me. Everything would have to go right for us

Yeah, Bridges for ROY, not such a long shot. Many great players were taken mid to late lottery (Giannis, Kawai, Mitchell, Klay, Curry, Paul Pierce, etc.). Miles is the prototype for the modern positionless NBA: athletic and skilled, does everything including defense very well.

I would be shocked if Bridges wins ROY. My money is on Trae Young due to MCW status (terrible team, no primary scoring options), with Carter as my dark horse.

I was gonna say that, but they still have Barnes and DSJ who is real good.

ATL has...Jeremy Lin and Bazemore?

If we have a really good season and Miles becomes a starter maybe he could sneak into the ROTY conversation, but even then I think a lot of the other guys would have to disappoint to clear the path. This is a good class.

Batum could just tap out, MKG doesn't want the spotlight, so Miles gets his shot. Best case scenario

There's plenty of time to develop Miles. They're tied to Batum at Miles' position for a couple more years at least. Monk is on the fast track. They may might not have cap for Lamb, plus Monk is capable of becoming a #1 scorer.

A Star Is Born!?

Post#376 » by Chapelchilla » Wed Oct 3, 2018 7:27 pm

No, not the retread movie..... No, not somebody we passed on in the draft....... I know it's way early and I know even Ammo looked pretty good for a couple of games BUT-

I think the Hornets may have just stolen a future star player in the late lottery with Miles Bridges.
He seems to have that IT factor we have been lacking. Even Kemba doesn't have the the ability to physically dominate at the level Miles is showing already. Nasty dunks, a nice shot, good speed and it looks like his game/charisma also gets his teammates pumped up. I'm really impressed so far.

If Monk and WHG are also able to become better then average contributors(which looks quite possible) in our new system we may actually have a good young core to build around. Graham and Bacon have potential too.

It would be awesome if Miles can keep this up all season. He could be a real star if he continues to get better as he matures and learns the pro game. I am pretty darn excited for the season to start.

I was hyped about Miles all year. The main thing that people would knock him on were his wingspan and undefined position, but I never saw that being an issue. Wingspan doesn't effect overtly athletic players the same way it effects average players for obvious reasons. And, his wingspan went up from initial reports by the combine. Factor that in with the reality the kid is still growing and it shouldn't have been as much of an issue. Wingspan didn't hurt Blake Griffin early in his career. On the latter issue of undefined position, I thought it was rather obvious he could play both positions well. I mean he did well with both in college. Some other people said he couldn't dribble, but from tape I saw he just didn't dribble a lot in college. That doesn't mean he can't dribble.

Between SGA and Miles, might be an all time late lotto one two combo.

I dont think I'm jumping the gun and saying he could be the 2nd best hornet by the all star break.

It's probably a great era for "undefined position" players like him with small being all the rage
