Miles was tied with Biz 11th on the team in BPM which takes into account how bad your team is. He was the 2nd lowest for any player that had a USG rate of at least 20 over Bacon, and the lowest of any player that got minutes. (rounded Bacon's 19.5 to 20).

I kind of just think he's a tweener that either needs be bigger to be a pf/small ball center, more agile so he can guard wings, or be an elite outside shooter so he's worth the defensive liability to really be a plus player out there. I hope I'm wrong.

Miles has been bad.

Being a 'tweener' has very little to do with it.

The problem is he's a guy being asked to do things he isn't great at.
* Nearly half of his shots taken were catch and shoot and he only shot 41.7% on those.
* He's being asked to make quick decisions and move the ball. 60% of his passes were to Terry/Graham and they shot less than their normal catch and shoot % on those passes.

Basically the team played him like a 3&D guy, which wasn't his role in college.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I'd jump at this but doubt the Nugs would do it.

FWIW Bridges is a huge minus on defense. I don't like his fit next to MPJ. They are both more 4s than 3s.

If we replaced Miles with a fleet footed wing that can defend, move the ball, and shoot the team would be a lot stronger.

Hayward could be a great mentor for Miles - with the way Gordo sees/processes the game and picks his spots so well.

Miles could do well following that example.

Love hearing that Miles focused on improving defense this offseason. We really need a forward who is willing to challenge the LeBron, Giannis, Simmons type guys when we run into them.

A really athletic young Jae Crowder would be a really good player.

I'm still waiting for that true body on body poster dunk from Miles. He always dunks next to or past someone.

Starting to look like Kidd to K-Mart on the early 00s Nets.

If and when Lamelo gets a starting spot i think it only makes sense that Miles starts with him.

You benching PJ or playing him at the 5?

The way things have looked with PJ at the 5 if bring him off the bench. Melo and Miles already have incredible chemistry together.

Where are all the “Trade Bridges now, he isn’t good and won’t get any better” crowd that was banging the drum every day a month ago?

I'm still here 8-)

What improvements have you seen so far this offseason? Him going 17/4/2 in one game doesn't really change my mind and while I love seeing the lobs from Lamelo it something he's always been able to do. I'm eager to see what he does in the first half of the season. For me, it starts with his defense. He needs to be at least average defensively to be a starting caliber player given his offensive ceiling.

Caveat, I really hope he progresses this year. Only helps the franchise. He also seems like a hella cool dude. Easily my favorite twitter follow on the team.

Wasn't really me, but I'm still not convinced he's a starter and I would probably be happy to trade him to get a guaranteed long term starter.

There were more than a handful willing to trade him for a pick in this years draft in 20-30 range....

I do believe we have been bad for so long, that we have a view on a player that if they can't start then they are terrible.... there is nothing wrong with being a guy who comes off the bench that plays 25-30 minutes a night. Those guys have value too and him being 13th pick in the draft that is a reasonable outcome.
