Guys I like: Tyreke Evans, Fred VanVleet, Dante Exum, Shabazz Napier, Seth Curry
Guys I'm OK with: Rajon Rondo, Raymond Felton, Devin Harris, Jarrett Jack, Jose Calderon
Guys I don't like: IT, Zach Lavine, Avery Bradley, Elfrid Payton, Jamal Crawford, MCW
I would take Tyreke over everyone in the poll by a pretty wide margin. Of the remaining guys I like, I don't think that the team will go after a Exum ... too risky given the need. VanVleet is another story. Throwing the full MLE at him would put Toronto WAY over the cap & he is the real deal. So VanVleet, Shabazz or Curry ... and I'm going to go with Fred, though any of them would be OK.

Tyreke Evans would be my top option for a 1-year MLE deal. I don't think we can afford to hand out another multi-year deal and retain Kemba under the luxury tax without another "cost cutting" move.

That list is pretty bad. I don't see exum, parker, or vanfleet as possible for us.
I went with elfrid, but would probably just use Monk and Graham.

I honestly think Tyreke is good enough to start for us at the 2 with Batum at the 3. Let alone being a backup 1. Hell, let him do both.
Slight sarcasm. He would be the 2nd best player on our team. Hes going to get paid.

Tyreke would 100% start and be our 2nd offensive option.

Exum is the only one on the list I would want for this team (maybe Van Fleet, but I know nothing about him). I'm adamant that we dont' necessarily need a backup PG. We need someone with the size to guard SGs on defense who can function as the PG on offense. It doesn't matter if that player is a PG or a wing.
All of the PGs on the list except Exum and Van Fleet are too small to play with Monk or Kemba most of the time, so I have no interest.
I actually find it a bit concerning that the front office thinks we specifically need a backup PG. Like, imagine any of those 6'1-6'2ish guys being our backup PG with Monk at SG and Lamb at SF. Our bench defense would hemorrhage points like crazy. Our perimeter defense is already terrible outside of MKG.

Bradley
Tyreke
VanFleet
Exum
Parker
Teodosic
I wouldnt mind a multi year contract for the first three and let Mitch sort out the cap later.
Exum is scary with his injury history, Parker would be an ideal 1 year mentor for Graham and Monk too. Teodosic could be traded with our TPE, if im not mistaken. Attach another second from the Clips for taking him. Every Clips 2nd soon will belong to us until 2030.

reading the gossip in the Utah board, they seem confident they will go over MLE to keep him.

Evans
Bradley
Curry
Van Fleet
Napier
Exum
Would Dallas do MKG for JJ Barea? They would still have DSJ and Yogi Ferrell. Barea has one year left on his contract and makes 3.7 million. Trade works on trade machine.
Dallas gets MKG, signs DeAndre Jordan and rolls with
DSJ
Doncic
MKG
Barnes
Jordan
Hornets get their backup pg while saving 8.3 million this year, and free up 13 million for the offseason.

What about our trade exception and a 2nd round pick for Patrick Beverly.
Clippers would still have Teodosic and SGA, Beverly only has one year left, and with Jordan opting out the Clippers are gonna have to reboot. This saves them more money and gets them a pick in the 2nd round.

I agree completely, the team needs a bigger player that can guard wings, not another small 6'3 and under guy that will struggle to defend bigger players. We have 3 of them already in Kemba, Monk, and Graham; we don't need another one.
I'd be willing to give up value to do a sign and trade to get Exum from Utah with them getting Marvin, Frank, and one of our 2nds. And you know that both MJ and Mitch would love to have Cecil Exum's kid on the team, so I imagine they've at least thought about it.

Hey, if its a 10 mill max contract I'd say go for it big time.
I cannot envision Frank in Charlotte after next season, Marvin's minutes could be distributed between Miles, Willy, etc. I don't think Utah would bite, but I like the idea.
