Hammer cumulative results 18/19

Post#1 » by JDR720 » Mon Oct 1, 2018 5:19 pm

After each game we will vote for the Hammer of the Game Awards (Hornets players only). The voting will be open for 24 hours after the end of each game. Fans from the opposing teams are encouraged to vote, just remember the vote is for the best Hornets.

Points
Gold Hammer (3) = best player of the game
Silver Hammer (2) = second best player of the game
Bronze Hammer (1) = third best player of the game

Player with the most points gets a gold hammer, player with the second most points get a silver hammer and the player with the third most points gets a bronze hammer. In the event of a tie, both players will be awarded the higher hammer for win and the lower hammer for losses. If two players tie for a bronze in a loss, only the gold and silver will be awarded (I just cant justify 4 hammers for a loss).

Gold Hammer = 3pts
Silver Hammer = 2pts
Bronze Hammer = 1pt

- Votes must be clear and follow the points listed above with 3 being the best (and so forth)
- Votes must have a best, second best and third best. If you do not list 3 players, your vote will not count. If you list more than 3 players, your vote will not count. If you list a tie, your vote will not count. Votes for anything other than our players will not count. Obvious joke votes will not count.

Monk is 4th in votes, yet has been worst player on team and easily worst of the 4 young picks this year. Odd. Granted Bacon and Graham were MIA half the season, but still... Monk double hammers over Marvin? Miles? nuts.

it's probably because Monk either plays very well or very badly with almost nothing in the middle, while guys like Marvin are just consistently decent. not sure why Monk over Miles would be surprising. Miles has been mediocre for about 3/4 of the season and often his good games have come when many others have played well.

Its mostly due to him having random hot nights, and everyone else either getting hurt (Cody) or being in and out of the rotation. They also dont have the "boom or bust" ability Monk has, namely MKG and Marvin who are consistent but generally dont do well enough to get any votes.

This season also appears to be the largest gap between #1 and #2 since 12/13 season. Kemba has been the only consistently good player this season, he probably would've easily beaten the record if kept up his early season form. Also looks like it will be the worst #3 place in a while and maybe ever, I doubt Monk or Tony get many more points. If they dont get to 40, it will be the first time ever #3 didn't have at least 40somthing points. Including the lockout season. Mullens and Gerald are co-lowest #3 winners with 46 points. Good bet that Monk and Tony wont beat that.

Hammers complete. Kemba beat 2 record. Most points and most golden hammers. Lamb did well at #2, tying the record for silver hammers and everyone else sucked. Also notable, Miles didn't get any golden hammers, probably the highest point total despite not getting a gold.
