No Beal unless we don’t have to trade much which is unlikely.

I just hope we trade Frank. If we're not going to play him, even over abysmal Willy, then give him a better situation elsewhere.

Celtics need bigs and we could use some defense.

Interesting article about potential landings for M. Gasol

Lol if we could get Gasol giving up Batum, Willy, and a protected first id literally piss on myself with happiness.

This.... is true.

Kinda weird to be on the other side of lopsided trades where we get scraps in the trade.

Never really wanted to pursue Gasol, but....

That deal is worth it just to get rid of Batum and his contract. Gasol would help the team for the remainder of the year too

I’d do that deal just so JB can stop playing Willy and Batum so much by taking them completely off the roster. That’s a great trade for us.

This is probably my favourite win now trade. It's not a huge amount of money, I prefer Gasol to love and Casspi is a handy throw in who can play the 3/4. Heck, he might even start so we can keep MKG on the bench.

So that article has been reading this forum :D

I'd rather ship Kaminsky than Willy at this point to be honest..

Amazing how good a crap sandwich can sound when you consider every meal for the next two years would guarantee some form of crap in it. Gasol might help us claim that coveted 8th playoff spot so we could taste a pinch of the good life for one brief series. Worth it? Well if you’re not trading Kemba then do something to get rid of the French patsy.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The Kings should be blowing Kupchak’s phone up about trying to get in with the deal that’s been rumored about Gasol from Memphis but I think instead Divac has his eyes on tryna land Bradley Beal or Harrison Barnes.

Let's do this. Gasol can ride home on the plane with us and we can drop off Nic.

Gasol would be a much better pickup than Love. I wouldn't like it if Gasol was on a long term contract, but two years with a decent chance he'll opt out of the 2nd is perfect and if he still has some production left in him he could improve the team quite a bit.

i HATE Marcus Smart, but if that's in conjunction with us bringing in another center (Marc Gasol would be nice), I'm in.

That said, can our offense handle two MKG's? Smart is shooting better this year, but we've got like 5 years of data saying that's his shooting this year is a fluke. I don't see Boston trading him anyway.

Gasol for Batum/Willy/protected 1st is a dream trade from my perspective.

Fits the win-now stance we're taking? Check.

Shows Kemba we're committed to making moves to win? Check.

Creates cap flexibility to make re-signing Kemba easier to manage? (Probably) Check.

The only downside I can see is that it probably just ends up being us paying a mid-round 1st for only half a season of Gasol unless he really loves it here and re-signs at a big discount. But losing the last year of Batum's deal in the process makes that pill pretty easy to swallow.

I'm not sure Memphis would do it though, unless they didn't have anyone else offering a decent 1st AND they wanted to avoid a full-on tank and mistakenly saw Batum/Conley/JJJ as a respectable core in the short term. The Grizz are certainly the type of team that will always try to avoid, or at least put off, a tank for as long as possible as they face many of the same small-market realities we do. I just don't see them valuing Batum.

our offense isn't the problem most nights, its our inability to defend anything. I dont think he and MKG would play much together though, unless we go small and play bully-ball.

I could be interested in Smart, but only if he changes his stupid looking haircut

I don't want Gasol. Even for Batum I am not sold. Gasol is 34 going on out of the league soon. If we trade for him and things go well we might do something stupid like resign him for another four years. It wouldn't be the first time we parlay a bad contract into a worse longer contract.
