This is a 30,000 foot question seeking a 3 foot answer: Are the Charlotte Hornets and Mitch Kupchak running out of time to save the season and keep impending free agent Kemba Walker?
Other related 30,000 questions: Where does the red line lie? Or is Kupchak too late already?

I don’t think it’s too late to deal Kemba for a quality package. I think timing is the key. Also who is he paired with? They want to get rid of Batum, as I desperately do also.

All of the teams that could use Kemba to make a playoff push can also wait until the offseason and sign him rather than trade away assets for him (Pacers, Lakers, Mavericks, Nets, Knicks, etc).

Trade deadline is the 8th Feb and Allstar weekend is 18th. I doubt Charlotte will trade their all star before they host him back at the all star weekend. If that deadline wasn't changed then I think he would be getting shopped hard. Hornets got screwed.
