Yes. If we don’t make the playoffs in this climate then we 100% need to blow it up and tank for draft position the next 3 seasons.

It pretty much boils down to only Detroit, Orlando, or Washington knocking us out of contention.

Detroit- The steepest competition out of the three because Dwayne Casey is a recent COTY, Blake Griffin is playing some of the best ball of his career, and they have other all-star to above average talent Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson that could catch a hot streak that catapult them above us. They’re ONLY 1.5 games behind us.

Orlando- I have zero faith in a Clifford-coached team but Vucevic is playing his best basketball where he might go Añl-Pro Big-Al mode for the 2nd half of the season.

Washington- The Wizards is probably the worst of this bunch currently without John Wall but they did themselves a solid by trading Otto Porter’s bad contract and lackluster production for two productive players in Bobby Portis and Jabari Parker. I don’t believe in any team lead by a combination of Bradley Beal as the leader and coached by Scott Brooks so I’m not taking them serious.
They will wage war against the Lamb but the Lamb will triumph them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings - and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." Revelation 17:14 (NIV)

We still play Washington 3 times. Those games are going to be critical to getting in. The fact that they didn't completely blow it up is not a good sign. In fact, they may have improved by adding Portis who burned us very recently.

Detroit didn't really improve at the deadline, but they didn't really regress either. Their schedule is very easy and Blake Griffin, when healthy, is a guy that can stomp over inferior competition.

Orlando, if Fultz is able to start playing soon, could be a difference maker for Orlando. Coach Clifford will likely play him big minutes because he is a beast defender and if he comes out of his shell, watch out.

All in all, I see Detroit passing us at like 80% chance. Washington passing us at like 40% chance and Orlando passing us at like 40% chance. I really don't have any clue about Miami, haven't followed them at all.

The key for those teams will just be taking advantage of their easy schedule, something we could not do at the beginning of the season. If we make the playoffs, it will be by virtue of nobody providing competition, instead of us 'earning it'.

Ugh...

The Detroit Pistons will sign Wayne Ellington once he clears waivers.

They loss Reggie Bullock to the Lakers in a trade I didn’t really understand so they don’t really gain anything by adding Wayne Ellington.

I don't have any confidence we will; Second half of season schedule harder; IND not coming back to the pack, Matthews pick up good one for them, he starred in POR under Macmillain; Lavert back for BKN; WAS, DET playing better; Ross suddenly torrid in ORL; I'm pessimistic

Going to the Nets game on the 23rd. Should be a big game for us, looking forward to it.

We make it baring injury. I'm not a big believer in mid season trades unless a team clearly improves because you don't have much time time to develop chemistry.

It is six teams fighting for three spots. We have the best player, the best point differential and the second best record. We also have one of the deeper rosters.

I have to disagree with you on the teams roster. Besides Kemba, who do we have that would actually start for any other playoff team? We may have a deep roster but unfortunately they all about the same other than Kemba who is far better than anyone else. With the difficulty of the remaining schedule, they are not likely to make the playoffs.

If big teams keep playing their full roster against the Hornets and rest key players against Hornet's competitors, it surely looks fair.

It sure doesn't feel like we will make it right now after gong 3-7 in our last 10 games.

Yeah we have not looked anything close to a playoff team of late.

There used to be a time when I used to believe more often than not that we could beat teams like the Pistons, Magic, and Heat. Not anymore.

Looks like this weekend just about ends our hopes. Magic winning in Indy, Miami likely beating NY, Brooklyn beats the Celtics and the Pistons beat the Blazers. All of those teams rising and taking care of business. Meanwhile we lose to a dysfunctional Lakers team with everything on the line and having to go back to back to Gs and Utah afterwards lol.
