B because we didn't overpay. I'd say A if we got something of value for Frank or offloaded a bad contract without giving up Monk or Bridges. That said, no one apparently wanted to take on a bad contract unless we gave up Monk or Bridges. Sometimes the best decision is no major decision.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
I'm not mad about the Gasol thing. Obviously, they just didn't like the players we had to offer.
That said, why couldn't have we tried to move Marvin for Mirotic? Milwaukee got him for practically nothing but a second round pick..

The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

That would've been nice. I wonder if other teams realize that we're sort of desperate and so they make sure that they ask for the few pieces we'd like to keep.

C. Glad we kept Monk and Miles.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
The status quo isn't cutting it but at least we didn't take on more long term money or trade Monk/Bridges for scraps!
Not making a move still gets a D from me. My "Kemba Is Staying -O-Meter" dropped from a 90 to a 75 today.

D -> Frank, Lamb still here, nothing to help Kemba
but at least we didnt give up future assets or monk/miles for a 1srt round sweep.

C-
We didn’t do anything that pushed the needle in terms of convincing Kemba to stay. I don’t think there was a trade out there that would of put us ahead of any of the 4 best teams in the east so I’m not made about it for this season, it’s more about keeping Kemba.
I am however glad we didn’t trade away Monk or Bridges. Maintaining our first also gives us more assets this offseason and next year before the deadline.
Attaching whoever we pick in 2019 draft (depending if we like them)or our upcoming 2020 draft along with the expiring contracts of Biz, Mkg, and Marv will be a lot more valuable then anything we could of got this year.
You saw teams like Kings and Bulls trade expiring contracts alone for solid nba players in Barnes and Porter. That could easily be us next year.
Patience is key, now we just have to sell Kemba on our plan to use our upcoming expirings to net him more talent.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
Agree we didn’t smash our nuts in a beef grinder, but otherwise a bad day. Doing nothing to this mediocre team means exposing Kemba to little hope, and more likely assuring his departure for NOTHING. This grade really hinges on his decision. There is nothing we can realistically do in the offseason with bloated contracts to help him. If I’m Kemba and a great opportunity calls, why stay?
This team of mine, which I embraced just the hope of before it was even given actual life as an expansion franchise, keeps beating me down with ineptitude and sloth. I am trying to hang on, but I’m just getting tired of it.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
i'm going D, the only saving grass is not trading for trading Monk or Bridges.
I ranted in the deadline thread my reasons why.
to many players who could've contributed to this team were traded for bugger all and we never got involved.
I would've started Temple over Batum.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
I don't think anybody wanted our, ahem, assets so I'm fine with doing nothing. I'd rather keep Miles, Monk and our pick because Mitch might actually be okay at drafting. The only thing that sucks is that there was no miracle acquisition that would entice Kemba to stay (again, probably wasn't likely) and not moving Frank to a better situation b/c he's been a trooper.

I would agree if I didn't see all the other crappy trades around the league.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
I voted D as well. A passing grade only because the team didn't get worse.
I hope Mitch has plans to do something in the offseason or we'll be rebuilding again.

Re: Grade our trade deadline
Bucks getting Mirotic when he would have been perfect with us is the only thing that bothers me. And they got him for what? Stanley Johnson? Lol.
