Not exactly a sharpshooter. His career FG% is .425 and .330 from three.

Try him out this year, maybe a Parker replacement next year could split backup duties with Graham.

Blue collar dude that works hard, can handle the ball a bit, and plays D. I'm fine with it.

Also my reaction to realizing he’s only 28. I thought he was mid 30s

He will probably play when Tony doesn't. Replacing Graham as the 3rd guy.

we need a third center center WAY more than an extra guard

this only makes sense if kemba's about to shut it down or something

Or if Tony is hurt.

Which he is.

No one else was cutting it in the 4th quarter yesterday to help Kemba, so it's worthwhile trying another creator for when Parker is out.

classic Hornets; fans spend weeks arguing the merits of franchise altering trades and signings . . . Kevin Love, Bradley Beal, Marc Gasol . . . and in the end we add . . . Shelvin Mack

Mack has been playing a big role for Grizzlies this season averaging 23 mins a game. He has been playing a lot alongside Conley to close games, I expect him to step in and take over backup role over Graham for now.

Also to note, played 3 years of college basketball at Butler with one of our assistant coaches Ronald Norad.

He's needed as long as Tony is out, good signing.

this franchise will do anything to avoid playing its youth

Yea this move seems to be mostly about Tony Parker insurance. That knee contusion may be worse than expected at his old age. I doubt Mack takes any playing time away from Monk as long as Monk continues to play better and shoot better shots.

Typical Hornet move....sign a veteran to make sure the young guy does not develop too quickly. Something about this team and their unwillingness or inability to develop young players and only trusting veterans. JB is not as bad as Clifford but seems to be heading in that direction.
