Do or die. And maybe die anyway.
All Eastern Conference games start at 8:00.

Clifford no doubt wants to make sure we don't win this game.
Thankfully Kemba rested yesterday.

No matter what the **** Pistons do, let's just get the W.
The last few weeks have been a ton of fun, even the losses on the west coast swing were more palatable now that the young guns have been getting heavy run. If things don't swing our way tonight I know the focus will be on how JB should have gone to these lineups earlier (I agree with that btw) but I'm just happy there's finally some youth and optimism around the squad again.
I feel much much better heading into next season than I did even a month ago and that's because Bacon/Miles/Graham, hell even Frank who I surprisingly now want to come back in 2020, are so fun to watch in comparison to what we've gotten the last few years. I hope they keep growing over the offseason and we shock a lot of people next year regardless of whether we're playing next week.
Hope The Hive is absolutely deafening tonight, and if it's 'only' a springboard for better days next year then so be it.

Fact is no one is game planning against Bacon, Graham, Frank, etc. We'll be back in same position next year juggling a roster of misfits trying to capture a bottom playoff seed. Honestly, best thing that could happen is for Kemba to sign elsewhere. Then, this team could finally change direction.

DET loss + CHA win = CHA playoffs
DET win = DET playoffs
DET loss + CHA loss = DET playoffs

Miami is eliminated, Detroit would get in if Charlotte loses

I sort of agree that when teams start preparing for them the efficiency will drop off (Bacon especially, he's not a 47% 3pt shooter), but I'm not as pessimistic about it totally undoing all the gains. Bacon just giving a **** and moving around occasionally is >>> Batum. Marv gives great effort but he's aging, you can tell, just having Miles in his spot creates opportunities. I'm a fan of Graham, I think he'll be a good player.
If Kemba leaves I have no illusions about this team's prospects, but I think the young guys have shown us enough to say they belong in the league and at minimum deserve a chance to solidify their positions next season. They've given me optimism that there is talent here, just misused or neglected for too long. Mitch appears to be 2/2 in the draft, and TP was a decent free agency pickup. If we can meet even that low bar (good draft picks, not even necessarily stars, and solid FAs with sane contracts) 2-3 consecutive seasons it will be a big improvement. The mistakes of the past will be with us for at least another few years but I'm not letting my negative feelings about bad contracts and draft choices by men who are no longer employed in uptown steal all the enjoyment.

Keep in mind, this technically could be Kemba's last game as a Hornet...

This has somehow been lost in the shuffle. But yes, it could be. I think there’s a better chance he resigns now than doesn’t but still. Win tonight and get in the playoffs... I think that may solidify him here next year. Hell, win and end on a 5 game win streak and that makes a difference too.

I think Kemba will resign either way and Mitch will pull off a big trade in the off season to make a big splash.

Maybe Mitch will trade Batum, Marv will become an asst. coach, MKG will option out, Biz and CZ traded for future 2025 2nd rounders. Sign Kemba, Lamb, and Frank.....our problems are solved!!!

Zeller apparently out again with knee soreness.
How the hell do you miss an entire month with knee soreness? I can understand missing a couple of games here and there when it flares up or even missing a long stretch of games after you have some sort of surgery/treatment to fix the underlying issue, but how the hell do you miss a month straight otherwise?

Marvin is also supposed to be out for tonight's game.
MKG is supposed to be available to play.
Parker apparently was available to play last night's game, so, I assume he will be available tonight.
