What's the catch with this guy? Seems to good to be true to go undrafted.

Reminds me of Anthony Tolliver a bit.

I hope with all that I am that we sign someone to roster who has the last name Beans.

Having Franks and Beans on our roster at the same time would make my decade.

guy is a legit shooter with an efg% that rivals Cam Johnson but apparently undrafted because he is too stiff to guard anyone

"he's just so stiff he can't really even bend over..." discussion of Franks at 1:17

He is stiff.

Watching video of him, he just does’t make an effort on defense.

Interested in seeing his shooting mechanics work with longer three point line.

They talked about some of my sleepers. I added Reaves and Cheatam today (as my last roster additions of the season) Only thing Cheatham is missing is a Jumper and Reaves could be a sleeper. I think roach might have gotten cut from a tweet he posted. Not sure tho.

Good player to sign to this type of contract. I like how he improved his FG % each year and was a major offensive contributor. Looking at video he is not very strong, limits his athleticism. He has a reliable quick release shooting stroke, good passer, seems to have good court awareness. Not a notable defender but he played as an undersized PF. He’s been listed at 6’9” but most show him at 6’7” and 225lbs. Someone mentioned he played stiff, and that is a good description. Has potential to eventually be a reserve player, which would be good value for an undrafted prospect.

4 games in, Robert Franks shooting 48% from 3 on 8 attempts/game and averaging 25ppg; he looks bigger and stronger on the court and does more work in the post than I expected:

I think its a trend that Mitch likes to draft somewhat older players that just know how to play the game, and can shoot. Devonte 4 years (5 maybe, I think he may have transferred) The Martins who were transfer 4 year players. Franks who is a 4 year player. You can hit on players like that in the 2nd round. Regardless of age you find a definitive strength that translates to the league. Whether it be size defense and just insane hustle like Martin, solid size and can shoot the hell out of the ball in Franks, and of course everything Devonte can do.

Yeah, I have never been a fan of drafting "high ceiling" players who do not yet know how to play the game. The poster boy for this attitude--or prejudice--on the part of GMs is Bruno Caboclo. No one had ever heard of him when Masai Ujiri drafted him from Brazil in 2014. The famous comment was "He is two years away from being two years away."

I am looking at his career stats. In his first five seasons, he played a total of 35 games. He never averaged more than ten minutes a game. Meanwhile, guys with real skills were traveling on buses in the G League. Last season, he managed a whopping 34 games, shooting 42.7%. And the guy is still drawing an NBA salary with the Memphis Grizzlies.
