It's effectively a contract for training camp that eventually ties them to Greensboro. These have the option to be converted to a 2-way, which can in turn become a regular NBA contract.

I'm a HUGE Zags fan for the past 25 years, travel all of the country to follow them. Anyway, Perkins former AAU coach just posted on our main board that he will be signing with the Hornets next week, may be just a camp invite, I have no idea, just wanted to pass along the info.

I stand corrected, didn't read his post thoroughly, this is what he just posted:
he has agreed to sign with Charlotte next week for over six figures to be on their summer roster and in their training camp.
