Kobi Simmons Agrees To One-Year Deal With Hornets

The 6’5″ guard emerged as an undrafted steal in his rookie year of 2017-18. He appeared in 32 games (12 starts) en route to producing 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game on 42.3% field goal shooting. For an undrafted rookie, these were huge feats, not to mention he received 20.1 minutes per contest from the Grizzlies while playing on a two-way contract.

Seems like a double up of the Martin twin that we drafted (the passer one, not the shooter one).
We should call him Kobi Martin.

I hope he makes some noise for ya'll - he's very athletic and smooth. If his shot is falling he can be a valuable backup for you guys!

Nah. It was pretty clear that the Hornets are likely to need a third PG. Cody is a good ball-handling SG/SF, but he was barely a PG in College, let alone the NBA.

Sportrac shows the contract as an Exhibit 10 so he's got to make the team first, from that perspective i think he's competing more with Joe Chealey and Caleb Martin than with Devonte Graham

The way they share the news is always confusing. I was surprised because I read “one year deal with the hornets”.
The fact that it’s an Exhibit 10 is more understandable. This guy scored multiple 20pts with the grizzlies, he’s intriguing to be honest !

I watched a few of the highlights videos, he’s definitely Better than joe Chealey and Caleb Martin. He should make the team compared to those two.
He’s quick, athletic, willing to defend. The only thing that bothers me a bit is his shot. Doesn’t look confident shooting the 3 yet.

I like this I think he is better than Robert Franks, and has a legit chance to stick with the big club once hackneyed vets are outta here
