I've heard people compare Edwards to Wade. If there was a small chance this guy could be anything close to Wade I'd be thrilled to have him.

Connor Letourneau

2. Warriors: Anthony Edwards, SG, Georgia. The Warriors have long been linked to James Wiseman here, and for good reason: He could slide into their starting-center spot. But according to multiple league sources, Golden State likely will take Edwards at No. 2 if he’s available and it decides to keep the pick. His physical tools give him perhaps the highest floor in this draft class. If he can become more efficient offensively and ratchet up his defensive motor, Edwards has a chance to be the next Dwyane Wade. Still, the Warriors are interested in any trade offers that would net them a proven center and a mid- to late-lottery pick.

"proven center and a mid- to late-lottery pick" -- Cody and a pick in the top 3?

Not sure if the Warriors have the space for that (provided that they don't want to give up Wiggins or Draymond).

Willy, Monk and #3 could work and GS could probably then flip that with a team that's enamored with Ball.

This trade only happens if Ball goes #1. Or if the FO wants Ball themselves.

Warriors do have a Zeller-sized TPE, so a swap of Cody+3 could work. Of course they also have luxury tax issues to worry about.

I do think Cody would be a fantastic fit on the Warriors. they would make fantastic use of his Elite screening ability.

At this point I think Warriors will say anything to get a trade offer.

Edwards is going to drop like a brick in the ocean. The media was way off with their evaluation of him.

It's wild how all these negative things are coming out about Edwards in the 11th hour. First he says he doesn't really love basketball, would quit for football so he can do touchdown dances and taunt opponents (???), now this weird Benihana story.

Three theories:

1. Teams are going to let Edwards fall and they're foaming the runway so fans won't flip out on them when they pass on drafting him.
2. Edwards is intentionally tanking his value because he doesn't like Minnesota
3. His agent has done a great job covering for a crappy client, but he dropped the ball at the last minute.

I have no idea what to make of this kid.

No Benihana's in Charlotte, so we're good.

I think he actually wants to come here. He's trying to get Minny to pass on him with his comments on basketball. He knows GS probably won't take him.

If you had to choose where to live for the October-May period, and the choices were Minneapolis or Charlotte, which one would you pick? (Especially for a kid who grew up in Georgia)
Who I woulda took:
2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: Porter Jr | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

He seems to lack basic awareness. Is that a product of being surrounded by so many “yes men” - a reason some think he has to be as far away from Georgia as possible?
