If he had said "All 7 Charlotte fans are really cool", I would trade up to #1 to draft him

The last guy that complimented Charlotte during the draft process and wanted to play for us was Brogdon. Cho **** that up, but hopefully we'll do better this time. I'd be pretty excited about a Graham/Hayes backcourt. All we'd need is a wing that can attack the basket and a versatile big and we'd be set.

If it comes down to it, should we pick Hayes over Okongwu at #3? Honestly having trouble deciding.

I lean Hayes by a hair but would happy with either. I'm scared its going to be Wiseman or Edwards though.

Seems like almost everyone became a Hayes fan overnight lol. I totally understand that. Hard not to like Hayes as the pick. Hayes and Joe imo just look like they belong in Charlotte.

I don't necessarily like Hayes over any of these guys. He's just got the highest floor imo

Rewatching Hayes right now because I want to get a stronger feeling of him vs Ball.

I kept seeing Jeremy Lamb in his game and it’s not just because they look the same. Hayes has that same lengthy body, that never really looks like it’s jumping super high or moving overly quickly.

He can make all the reads out of pick and roll and I do believe that’s his biggest appeal. However, he doesn’t look Uber athletic doing it and this is versus much worse athletes then he will see in the NBA.

When comparing him and Lamelo, I do believe that they are both good passers. The biggest difference is flair/creativity that you see in Lamelo’s game that you just can’t teach. Hayes looks like he is a bit robotic when making his decisions and that should lead to high efficiency play but not sure it’s world changing when matched up vs better length and athleticism.

Still have yet to see him make a pass/layup with his right hand which will be exposed in the league with scouting reports. However his shooting stroke does look to be on the up and up.

At the end of the day I believe he has the potential to be a starting guard in the league but I don’t see much beyond that. I would have a hard time investing a top 5 pick in him. Given the weakness of the top this class I wouldn’t be shocked but think he is a clear step down from the top players in this class. I

Hayes is absolutely a flowchat PG, but he's a high-tier flowchart PG at least.

But I have to believe there's NO WAY he'll play his entire career with one hand.

https://au.news.yahoo.com/killian-hayes-is-the-anti-la-melo-ball-and-thats-a-good-thing-191948500.html

With his trainers and Charlotte Hornets forward Dwayne Bacon, Hayes has worked to hone his skills to the point where he can unleash them at the NBA level.

I doubt it means anything for Charlotte but what an odd coincidence.

I go back and forth each day on who I want us to draft, but I think I've come to the conclusion Hayes is the prospect I'd be most excited about. His game looks so smooth and savvy from the highlights I've watched. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders and solid work ethic. He also mentioned how Manu is a player he studies and one of his favorites, which is cool because I'm a huge Manu stan.

Killian Hayes seems like a Kupchak guy to me. Good size, intangibles, and skill level. He checks a lot of the same boxes that PJ Washington does. If Wiseman is off the board at 3 Hayes is who I hope we pick.

Hayes reminds me of a guy a few years ago who analysts had a hard time figuring out just how high they would go. He also has similar skill set, size and look as this player as well.

Wade Baldwin.

He was sophomore guard from Vandy who was 6-3 with a 6-10 wingspan. He finished the year averaging 14.1 points, 5.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game and shot over 40% from three.

Rumors had him as high as 6th that year I believe and he ended up going to Memphis at 17.

Wade Baldwin's issues had nothing to do with ability or measurables - he apparently had one of the worst attitudes *several* organizations had ever seen.

Hayes is a high IQ player that plays team ball. Great handle and he plays both ends.

He won't drastically change any way we play and allows PJ and Devonte to keep getting better.

I have him at 3 on my board but think we could land him around 8 if we trade out. Dream scenario is we trade out if Ball is at 3 and end up selecting the best PG in draft while fleecing a team of some assets.
