Borrego Interview

Sat in (virtually) on an Interview with Borrego yesterday....Biggest takeaways, in order of the Interview, not importance-

He loves Charlotte and the community is great.

The Mini-Bubble - it was great for team chemistry, played lots of golf, tennis, ping pong etc. Cody dominated them all. Borrego loves Cody and says we are lucky to have him. The team genuinely likes each other.
.
PJ- will initiate the offense more, he had a great rookie season. He Hit the rookie wall. Is now working on his strength, conditioning and emphasizing rebounding to become an even more consistent professional basketball player for year 2. Will play more at 5.

Miles - the game is slowing down for him. Working hard on his 3's. A Good passer and at individual D. Is Great attacking the rim. Improving on weakside D. Will play more 4.

Team Style - Not afraid to play more small ball to get the best players on the floor at the same time. Probably Looking to add length and rim protection through FA/Draft. Team is unified and really likes playing each other. Good Chemistry and will look to add players in the draft and FA who won't mess that up. Will play many different line ups.

Expectations - will be very competitive. An Aggressive team. Will Swarm on D. The D helps creates O. Will move the ball around and play an uptempo modern style. Liked the way they were playing during the last couple weeks of last year. Build on that.

Season Start - wants to get started soon, the sooner the better. If they do start before Christmas, Kupchak will really have to hustle with the compressed schedule. He is confident that Mitch will do a great job. He is already working really hard.

Which one? Zeller or Thing #1?

Does that make Oknongwu less appealing? Why double up?

Does that move Wiseman wayyyyyy up their draft board?

Does that move Ball and Edwards wayyyyyy down their draft board?

Feels like of all the guys currently on the roster, Monk could benefit the most *if this game plan and style comes to fruition.

Spoiler:
* = Seriously: When have we EVER had a coach - regardless of if it were BB or Vincent or Dunlap or Clifford - not, at some point over the preseason as we head into a new season, made this statement about us going to play an up tempo, modern, aggressive style and how many times do we only do that for the 1st 1-5 games and then regress to be the same ball pounding team we always are??
