Rozier for Randle is not a good deal for us. I'd demand Mitchell Robinson for Rozier. I think the Knicks hope to sign VanVleet or trade cap for Russell Westbrook as a last resort. So Rozier is not a target for them.

Would hope we could pull a deal like this, I mentioned before how we have no 2nd round picks in 2023 or 2024.

Good move by NYK, would liked to have Davis here for some sort of experienced big on the roster

Quite honestly, I'm opposed to any trade that needlessly makes us significantly better next season at the expense of lessening our odds of landing a top 5 next summer. Like others, I'd prefer we unload rozier for a prospect or pick and do the same with Zeller, then give heavy minutes to our young guys to figure things out while we rack up losses. Once we add a Cunningham, Kuminga or jalen Johnson to round out our core next summer, will then be in favor of adding veterans via FA and trades to make our move.

I tend to agree, but I would like our guys to play like they would on a real team. I think having a roster with severe deficiencies like no center, no rebounding, or no shooting would hurt development. Our center situation likely becomes that desperate if Cody is traded. That's why I'd be in for someone like Wood or even Randle on a one-year deal. Maybe they win us 2 or 3 extra games, but at least our rooks know how to play with a big man

Rosier for Randle does make a ton of sense.

For the Knicks.

For Charlotte it's OK.

I can't see Randle being a part of Charlottes future, why do we want him?

The upside is more about moving Rozier, it's a money move since Randle's only guaranteed for like 20% of his contract next year. Rozier is owed all of his. and like I said, it's better that our young guards and wings have a post guy to play with than have no presence up front at all.

if Rozier keeps shooting like he did last year, people will get over his contract and he could be a decent trade asset. He would be a good 3rd option on a good team.
No need to worry about $ yet, we have plenty of room.

Randle is too much of a ball hog. Lamelo needs the ball in his hands so we just need a good lob man. What about Willie Cauley-Stein?

Why?

We want to give PJ as many mins as he can handle and I'd much rather have Vernon play any mins someone like Randle would get.

I'd rather give those mins to Nick Richards.

Let's ride these rookies hard all season and see what we've got!!

Agree whole heartedly Slam. We're gunning for a high lotto pick anyway. Trade Cody and split all the center minutes between Carey and Richards.

Play the young guys as much as possible. As the season moves along somebody will give assets to dump bad contracts, and we have a couple of expirings waiting to pounce. If at all possible we need to get assets for the 2022 draft, which will be absolutely loaded.

If Harden does end up being traded to the Nets, does that make Caris LeVert any more available?

I think rookies and young players develop in a decent situation, going full process trash fire hurts development of everything short of an incandescent superstar

The Rumor on the front page is that the Clippers are interested in trading for Rozier. Do they have a spare mid priced big man or 2 guard?

The rumor is(at least as I understand it) is the Clips want Rondo and if they miss on him Rozier would be plan b. Some speculation that it could be a sign and trade with Montrezl Harrel. I dont put a ton of faith in that, but I think that would be a positive move for both team

They have no 1st round 0icks, but do have some 2nds each year. They also have a few interesting young players.

Mfioudu Kabengale
Terrance Mann
Jay Scrubb (just drafted)
Daniel Oturu (just drafted)

Montrezl Harrell (sign and trade)
