I'm not too sure how a post scoring center fits with our non-shooting PG and mediocre shooting SF.

Adding Carey might open things up for PJ to be able to step out a little more and keep draining those 3's.

Carey will come down to three things for me:
Can he protect the paint/rim?
Can he set hard screens to help pop our guards?
Can he identify a double and make a quick and accurate pass out of it to an open shooter?

I would have taken Tillman, but it's hard to complain with this pick. His defense is concerning, but any second round guy is going to have concerning warts to his game. I like Vernon because he's already an offensive bully and he's been busting his ass for months now to drop weight so he can get quicker. So he clearly realizes what he needs to do to carve out a role in this league and is willing to put the work in.

Watched him a ton. He's going to get minutes immediately and be a very solid role player. He's more athletic than people think, an excellent rebounder and can score. Insanely strong and a tremendous kid. I love this pick.

I love the pick for us gives us a young center to groom that already has great low post moves and rebounds well

Someone posted in another thread hes apparently already lost 30 pounds since the college season. Not going to get too hyped, but theres a chance this was a steal and 2nd rounders seem to be Mitch's specialty.

He'll never make an all star team, but as far as pure value for a 2nd rounder hes a steal.

Tillman and Joe were on the board so I'm less bullish. Feels a little lazy as he's a Duke guy. I'm hopeful the weight loss means something.
