Would have bet a lot of money that Big Vern would have been the one signing the extension when they were drafted. Kudos to Nick for putting in the work.

That’s a Heckuva good bargain for the Hornets to lock up a legit rotation player through his young prime. I’m glad Nick and Mitch both wanted him to stay here. We have a great pair of young bigs locked in for the next 3 years and that’s a good foundation.

What a pleasant surprise. I'm glad to see Nick locked in for a bargain price.

Now pleasantly surprise me with PJ's number.

The only teams with enough cap space to go after restricted free agents are the Rockets and Spurs. PJ's best chance for a decent payday is with us.

If no one is bidding against you then you're in the driver's seat. I think he'll end up getting a deal similar to what the Grizzlies gave Brandon Clarke - 4 years and a bit over $50 million.

4yrs/50 is extremely reasonable. I have a love hate relationship with PJ like many others on this board but he's not worthless, the key is to not pay him like a borderline all-star. 4yr/50 would be paying him like a great reserve or decent starter, which he is.

Yeah we should be quite happy with $12M a year. PJ is pretty clearly "just a guy" at this point, but he's a very quality rotation guy that I'd be more than happy to keep around under like $16M

Can't have too many 3&D guys, as long as they aren't too expensive. PJ on 12-15 is fine. 20+ isn't.

PJ isn't worth a dime over 12. I don't think he's even a starter on a playoff team. Hugely disappointing season in a "contract year"
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Pretty wild that the third year isn't guaranteed, think Nick could have gotten more in FA then virtually a 2/10.

Love it for us though, means we can take a ton of swings at forwards in the draft.
Big Board
1. Vontae Mack no matter what!!
