"The most common comparison out there for Riller is Fred VanVleet. "

He gets buckets

Him and Lamelo make an interesting backcourt off the bench.

Have to think Mitch is happy with his results tonight. Trade back into the 2nd for one guy, and apparently had another preferred prospect fall to 56.

He drafted Jordan Clarkson, right? Mitch knows a bucket-getter when he sees one.

He played at College of Charleston with Joe Chealey.

We have to be first team in NBA history to have two guys on the roster at the same time from College Charleston.

Chealey senior year he avg 18 and Riller averaged 18.6 as a sophomore. Best backcourt in the GLeague here we come.

I don't mind this pick at all, think he has a chance to be a rotation guy at some point, but if not oh well it was pick 56.

Very least he will be a bucket getter in Greensboro with his former teammate Joe Chealey.

Crazy he almost scored 2500 points in his college career.

good shot, and he actually finishes really well at the basket. has a semblance of a floater game as well. he tries on defense, I guess? some weird gaps in his passing ability, but nothing uncorrectable. he's got some juice, as well. some toughness. experience dealing with and succeeding against backcourt pressure, double-teams, being the focus of the opposing team. tons of experience in the pick and roll in college.

Our second-best pick. I haven't listened to it yet, but he actually interviewed with a local pod:

I think he's more of a 2 than a 1, could be really interesting as a scorer off the bench.

Yeah, he's an undersized 2. His upside is an excellent spark plug off the bench. He's a bad defender and his size is a liability. Yet, at 56 if he turns even into an end of bench rotation player then that's a huge win.
