GT: Game #24 - Charlotte Vs Utah (Feb 5th)

Interested to see if Terry and/or PJ are back.

Utah isn't super big in the back court with Conley and Mitchell so it should help with our 2 x PG line ups, although they are both physical.

Gobert might pull down 30 rebounds and block 10 shots though.

Update: Currently PJ is listed as doubtful for this game, however Terry is listed as probable.

Jazz fans still not over Hayward leaving.

They get to see their ex again.

Watch their Radio guy David Locke shred Hayward.
Fans whine about him some more.

Makes me laugh and they wonder why no one wants to play there.

Most classless fans I witnessed when he left as a FA.
Family got threats, vicious social media directed at Haywards......

Sorry, had to vent for that loser fan base.

Utah currently has the best record in the NBA. Pretty sure they ain't missing Haywood. They also signed both FAs they targeted in free agency, Clarkson and Favors. Clarkson is leading the 6th man of the year award right now, and Favors spent years in Utah and then came back the first chance he had.

Anyway, I would agree that Utah isn't a big draw for FAs, but the reasons for that are pretty much the same as why Charlotte isn't a big draw. Kind of seems like a glass houses scenario, IMO.

Good luck tomorrow, Hornet fans. :) It will be an interesting match up for sure because of the history.

The game is at 8:00 tonight. After this, Charlotte has Washington at 1:00 on Sunday (Super Bowl) and Houston at 7:00 on Monday. Both are winnable games.

As for tonight, the Hornets, being young, tend to play up (or down) to the competition.

I agree with that. They definitely do not **need** him basketball wise.

What I am saying is they still are not over him leaving. Like a middle aged man still yipping his HS girlfriend dumped him, kinda sad. Watch today's forums in Jazzland and on twitter.

"He never called Gail" ..... "He should of demanded a trade 1 year earlier". All he did was honor his contract and leave as a FA. Get friggin over it.

The thing that annoyed me about the reaction of Jazz fans to Hayward leaving is that they completely ignored that the team tried to lowball him with his rookie contract extension. If the team had not messed around and paid him he would have been in Utah for at least one more season. If you don't think he remembered that when he was deciding what to do as an unrestricted (key word there) free agent then you are a fool. I believe the Jazz front office know they made a mistake. It's why they went ahead and paid both Mitchell and Gobert as soon as they could.

The Jazz have to cool off a bit eventually, right? I hope tonight is that time.

The Jazz are another big team that we don't match up well with. I love Cody Zeller, but the Jazz backup big Favors is a better player than him. If the Jazz don't bring Conley back I'd be all over a sign and trade of Graham for Favors to reunite Mitchell with his friend and old high school teammate.

Hawks did a good job of stopping the Conley/Gobert pick-and-roll last time, for a while at least. Do that and get Mitchell and Clarkson going hero mode, our guys have a chance.

Charlotte is 22nd in rebounds. Utah is 1st.

Play someone tall off the bench, coach!
