If covid-19 wasn't still a problem I would have taken off work for this game. It's not a bad drive for me (about 5 hours) and downtown Memphis is pretty great. Next year hopefully...

Morant is going to be a handful. He’s going to get into the paint and to the rack fairly uncontested at will.

Valanciunas could be a problem as well. Power big with size who can also hit the 3 is usually our kryptonite.

Bane has been shooting lights out lately as well - so got to make sure we close out on him when he has it from outside.

Is a brush screen and a slip screen the same thing?

Back when I played we only ever referred to slip screens - but maybe that's an Aussie thing.....unless brush screens are something we just never used.

And if that is the case, what's a brush screen?

ehhhhh maybe?

brushes typically imply moving somewhere and interfering with a defender chasing down a teammate. not even a real screen

slips are just screens that aren't held long and imply you haul ass to where you're supposed to be after making contact or forcing the defense to respond.

semantics in hoops are wild tho

Apart from giving up the 3PM's our defense has looked outstanding to start this game.

The rotations are on point. The switches and then recoveries swift.

I likey.

Really looked like he wanted to go to Cody on his left the entire time and gave it as much time as he could to let that develop but when it didn't, took (and made) the shot himself.

Very impressive.

Agreed. I think Gordo needs to be on the court with those two and the main facilitator when there is no LaMelo.
