I think Bridges summed it up pretty well last night after the game.

Whelp, thought this would be one of the bigger end of season pressers where we'd get Kupchak and the players. Guess not.

It was nice to see Miles highlight defense as an area of improvement. He did that last summer too and showed a marked improvement from 19-20 to 20-21 at least from my perspective. Still not perfect on that end by any means, but he cut down on the flailing and blow-bys quite a bit. If he can take another step up to a true plus defender it will be huge, he certainly has the physical ability to get it done.

Brad Wanamaker sounds like he's angling for that 3rd-string PG job next year.

I'm trying not to over-analyze these quotes at the moment, not when that epic ass whooping is still so fresh in everyone's mind. I just hope the guys are motivated to work really hard this summer to never experience that kind of beat down again.

Just hoping we don't get some Lamelo quote saying his wrist was never fully healed and he reaggravated it or something along those lines

Do people with fully healthy wrists constantly twist and stretch and heat and ice it? No way was it 100% healthy and his shooting was reflected by that. He was healthy enough to play without endangering the long term health, is I think what we want to hear and confirm.

I think it was fully healthy, but just hard to regain shooting touch and stuff when your shooting wrist was immobile for a month.

The break would probably have healed but it still takes time to get full strength and movement back. I broke both bones in my wrist and after it healed and the cast came off I had about a 3rd of my normal movement. To fix it, I was told to use it as much as possible as well as physio. So hopefully it was the same for Melo and he’s 100% next season

Hornets coach James Borrego declined to speak about specific needs on the roster. He says it’s too soon.

Maybe for the minor things but at the 5 - You couldn't have elaborated there JB?
Maybe trying not to insult Zeller if we hope on getting him back on a vet minimum deal or near to it.

I think that was exactly it. And not just Zeller, but also Graham/Monk. Surely we plan on bringing some or all of those guys back, hopefully on reasonable deals, but that will be harder to accomplish if they think the head coach threw them under the bus after a loss where everyone on the team except Miles was awful.

If he says they need bigs Zeller is miffed. If he says they need more reliable scoring off the bench Monk/Graham are miffed. Just best to be vague and keep those evaluations inside the organization.

It's great hear Mitch say he's thinking ahead a bit. Prioritizing maximum future financial wiggle room is exactly what we should be doing. Let's play it smart for once.

I actually find the quotes from Kupchak about being aggressive in free agency a bit worrying. This free agent class is terrible and there are going to be a lot more teams with money than last free agency. Unless for some reason Gobert wants to sign here, then this looks like a bad free agency to be trying to make a big splashy move in. He also has a pretty bad history of free agent signings. Hes been good at drafting, though, so the teams focus should still be the draft and internal development imo (not necessarily tanking)

Its totally possible hes just making generic statements for the media and there is no point in speculating about any of this.

Money is going to be too tight (I hope) to make any real signings.
