There is a lot to like here starting with production

19 pts 9 reb 1.3 stl 1.7 blk in 28 min, 81% from the free throw line, 68% 2pt percentage, MVP of the Turkish league at 18 years old

Very advanced skills for his age, good back to basket scorer, good ball handler for size, good passer for his size, good lower body strength, good rebounder and good defensive instincts

I think he is going to be Sabonis with good defense. PnR defense will be an issue and he will not be able to body up the huge centers. Still there is a ton to like. He gives us something we really need which is an inside scoring threat.

has anyone talked about this fella yet? plays like a bull

best compliment i read about him was how smart he was around the basket. so he's not all bully ball which wouldn't work in the NBA. (unless your Shaq)

this is what I posted about him in December last year, he loves bullying those smaller than him but has the smarts to adapt as well.

I'm really high on him as a future starting big

I'm starting to warm up to him, but like the 28 page thread in the draft forum that is arguing about his size, I'm just not thrilled with his measurables, especially with PJ alaredy undersized

This is who I want most. A 7 footer who can run the floor and score around the basket like he does at age 18, against grown men? Yeah, that is what we need!

Think he is going to be gone by 11. Okc will probably either take him at 6 or try and package the 16 and 18 to move ahead of us and get him.

This is probably my favorite prospect we can reasonably hope to draft. Could definitely be wrong on him, young bigs are so tough to project, but he seems highly skilled and ready to contribute despite his youth.

I wanted to nickname him 'The Mechanical Turk' but he's just too fluid. His size/coordination combo is a good sign imo.

lol, thats true too, dude is doing 360 dunks and spin moves on the break as a Center! He probably goes before we pick unfortunately.

6'10 wingspan is incredibly worrisome

Also a reported 6 9, not a "true 7 footer"

That's Luis Scola measurables

According to the draft board the 6'10" reported wingspan is wrong and its supposedly at least 7'. Also, his last official measurement was supposedly 6'9.5" barefoot. If both of those are correct then his size doesn't seem like much of a negative, and more just not a positive.

I do worry about drafting this dude a lot, but I think you probably have to take him if he falls to 11. I highly doubt he lasts to 11, though.

Would be kind of a disaster for his play style if that’s true. Is he getting an official measurement?

When you look at centers drafted recently there are plenty of guys with great measurements and athletic ability that have busted. Then there are guys like Jokic and Sabonis that were drafted later and became stars because they were skilled.

Is he going to body up Embiid or Drummond, no. Still seems like a great bet based on the skills he has at 18 years old.

Jokic is also a massive human being not at all constrained by his size like the Turkish Penguin

I was pretty underwhelmed with this guys tape, looks pretty slow. Does not look like he is very big. Doesn't seem overly skilled. What is he going to do at a high level in the pros?

Looks a bit awkward to me. This league looks horrible, so I do not really care if he won MVP honestly.

He looks like he will be smaller or slower than every single big he faces in the NBA.

I agree, there is just something off about his movement. I'm also hearing Jokic comparison, but this guy has no mid range game at all. Feels like too old school of a big.

Louis Scola was not a bad player and at 11... If we get a player who plays like a prime Scola but can actually jump and move I'd take him. Scola would fit in today's league with the ease and be effective.

I did not want to post bout him, but this is the feeling i have. To be honnest, Sengun is a well known name for having dominated in young european competitions (but he was paired with a much more athletic/mobile pf/c, haltali).
Turkish leagu has a lot of local big men who are pretty slow (but tall), and foreigners includes big from the balkan, and ofc couple american. But there are like 5/6 competitive teams with loaded rosters (at european level..), the rest is generally really average if not worst. So stats wise, it does not mean a lot, especially considering he did not play in a good european cup (EL, Eurocup or Basketball champion league)

I dont think he is "Bender slow", but he is far from Sabonis (Sengun might be a better face up shooter, but thats all).
