No, he is legit. Solid fundamentals. For the record, he has been dominating in the paint since he is 14 in Europe (talking about youth european bball). twice mvp of the eurobasket U16 and also competitive in next. Knowing there are some powerhouses like Serbia, Croatia, sometimes Turkey, who generally have loaded frontcourt.

He has some Millsap in his game, since he can do everything, but he is more interested in doing the good play for others (screen, roll, dirty job in general) than taking over in offense.
That being said, he is a roleplayer and the counterpart for playing for real madrid is the size of the buy out (which should be heavy for a guy like him).

I dont think there is a chance Kupchak picks him since his profile dont really match what he said in his last itw.

I'm still suffering from acute Biz-zophrenia, so bringing in another raw, seriously undersized 5 isn't super appealing to me.

Yeah, I think it's this.

He could be really good, who knows. I like the defense angle, but I'm not sure he's all that different from Biz in that regard.

I don't hate him, just now sure how I feel about him and spending a lotto pick on a short center with no offensive polish.

Fair enough. I had never heard of him until 24 hours ago. His mixtape looked decent though. Like, if biz could actually catch and also pass, and make threes at 30%.

I don't know, looks more like an MKG or a Draymond to me. Big minutes for Real Madrid as a 19 y.o. has to count for something.

I think there's at least a small chance he could be our pick. I mean, Mitch seems to like Biz (he did trade an expiring for Biz when he still had 2 years and 34 million left on his contract and then resigned him for another year after that was up) so if Garuba could be an upgraded version of Biz, I think there could be some interest if their top prospects are off the board

Personally I'm not a huge fan. More than anything I'm just trying to prepare myself from being blindsided by an unexpected pick cuz this draft seems pretty open after the top six prospects + Moody/Franz/Bouknight

If we target Garuba we should definitely trade down and try to pick up an extra first. As much as we need a center we also need a shooting wing and it would be a shame to have this crazy draft where there are a bunch of them and we pass on all of them

Seems like Clint Capela.

It is tempting. If he can be Bismack that is actually a competent offensive player, he'd be a very good fit here.

I'm not even sure Biz is a good comp. Biz has a good motor, good length and timing so a good shot blocker, but his lateral mobility has never been great. I guess if he's a Biz with good hands, non-zero outside shooting, and lateral mobility that lets him switch and check elite perimeter players, that's huge.

You pretty much described WCS's scouting report. The only difference seems to be WCS was bigger, while Usman seemingly has some decent offensive skills.

His entire potential is based on if his offense is decent or not. His floor is pretty high, every team needs hustle players who can do the dirty work.

A more mobile Myles Turner may be his ceiling.

I'm getting flashbacks of Bismack hitting that turnaround jumper over Dwight now too. I'm sure in some alternate reality in which Biz can catch a ball, he'd be Hakeem.

In more ways than one, unfortunately.
