I'm a fan and I think he could be a major player on our second unit right away and potentially a nice Hayward replacement down the line. I think hes gone by 11, though.

Deanondrafts description of him seems to sum him up pretty well. Basically said the three biggest indicators of NBA upside are age, height, and passing, and Giddey is elite in all three, but in most other areas hes either weak right now or a question mark. The combination of youth, size, passing, and IQ/feel, is still really enticing imo.

Super wild card. Could go as high as 5th or as low as 15th. Not sure he really fits with LaMelo, but talent is talent and I will need to form a better opinion on this as time goes by.

He has great feel, great size, and can obviously pass the ball. Athletically he looks awkward doing it, but it seems pretty effective.

Wouldn't shock me at if he ends up being the guy that is shooting up draft boards in 3 weeks.

On the low end he is Exum and the high end he is Hayward.

Quite the range.

I think he will be more Ingles than Exum, early Ingles wasn't a knock down shooter, but I remember watching teenage Ingles and getting a similar vibe. Long, lanky smart player. Giddey is definitely more aggressive than Ingles though

Watched that video and love his vision but was a bit surprised that his handle was used as a weakness. Bit of a red flag for me.

He's a really intriguing player but I'm concerned about how useful he would be if he's not the primary ball handler. If he can be a nice connector-type player who uses his IQ to make the second pass for the easy bucket consistently while hitting open shots he will stick in the league for a long time.

My favorite target at 11, would be a great secondary facilitator

Lots of red flags with this guy.

He’s Australian, so you know he:
Drinks too much.
Tries to sleep with all of his mates girlfriends.
Is hard to understand when he speaks.
Bets on the horses to a problematic level.
Tries to sleep with all of his mates sisters.
Won’t work after 12:00pm on a Friday.
Has slept with most of his mates Mum’s.

He also spent the last year in Adelaide, so he no longer has a soul.

I really want to spend a year in Australia before I'm old, sounds like a wonderful place

I don't think we have a lot of room for an 18 year old facilitator on this team between LaMelo and Hayward. We need the ball in LaMelos hands and he needs people that can work off the ball

Hayward is 31 and injury prone...team still could benefit strongly from getting a secondary playmaker imo

If you ask him nicely, i bet Diop will prepare a few presents to welcome your stay : swimming with saltwater crocodile, kissing a taipan or a brown snake, caressing a wolf spider's back, walking shoeless in an bully ants infested garden, diving in the corral bareer at night to test if sharks make a difference between you and their lunch, boxing with a red kangaroo etc...

ps ; i have been in Sidney just for one week and it kicks ass (i wished i could have stayed much longer, i kinda felt for them since last fire storm probably affected many nice tourism spot among the blue moutains etc). Need a lot of time to "visit" Australia,
I like snakes, i went for a walk in the forest but could not find anything, the only wild dangerous stuff were in Sidnezs zoo (and the vivarium was disappointing honnestly).

sorry for the ot

A scout agreed on a taller Ricky Rubio as a solid comparison for Australia's Josh Giddey. He's also believed to go in the lottery with too strong of a feel/passing IQ for his shortcomings as a scorer to turn teams away.

I would be shocked if he is on the board when we pick. His size, passing, ability to control the game is too good to fall outside of 10.

I know he isn't the perfect fit with LaMelo right now, but I think he is that talented that I would not pass on him.

I want to like him but in his videos he passes more like Rubio, not like Ball, who is a generational passer

It's more that he makes the right pass than he is some uber creative passer who can see angles with his head turned like Ball

I don't agree with dean on draft with this one

Would be thrilled if he's gone before our pick so someone falls

I don't know what to think of this dude but my gut is to go with him since he is DIFFERENT. If he is there I wouldn't mind if we take him. This draft is pretty hard to mess up because we are gonna have some GREAT options there.
