Little Swaggy: The Kelly Oubre Jr Thread

Post#1 » by UNCNYC » Fri Aug 6, 2021 2:42 am

I like this. A few good sources are reporting him potentially coming to Charlotte. With Hayward wobbly and Him being able to play 3 positions is insurance for us. Now we just need a backup PG.

Now this is the type of depth signing we desperately need

Definitely talented...would he be able to accept a backup role though?

Keep going back and forth with Oubre...could be a really nice piece.

I think tomorrow is shaping up to be an interesting day.

His options are pretty limited right now

True. I mean if it's for a good price I'm certainly on board. Especially if it isn't too long of a commitment. He could be electric with our young core no doubt.

Going from a Martin entering the game to Oubre us significant.

I'd prefer both, but don't see how that would work. At all.

Kelly was really bad the first half of the season for the Warriors though

I guess I'll take it...but

The final numbers are still being ironed out, but his annual salary is expected to exceed $12 million, sources said.

Looks like we spent our cap space on him.

I guess we're finished with Markkanen?

I'll take an improvement over a Martin. Love that it's only 2 years. I like how Mitch is keeping the signings to 1 or 2 years so he isn't killing the team on down the road.

We desperately need wing depth and hopefully the contract is not excessive. He'll be good insurance for when Hayward next breaks a toenail.

Wow= wing depth looking strong. I know Oubre was expecting to start so I’m interested in how the minutes shake out.

Also, hopefully we still land Lauri as part of a 3 team trade with Graham, Ball, and Lauri.... very interesting week for the roster.

Will be interesting to see how they balance the minutes and how happy he will be.

If Hayward miraculously stayed fit, he would probably be lucky to get 20 minutes backing up the 3 and 4

I see him as more of a 3/2 than a 3/4 no?

he can probably play all 3, which makes more sense to get his minutes up.
