GT: Game #3 - Charlotte @ Brooklyn (Oct 24th)

Gulp…

Looking forward to seeing how Miles does guarding Harden or Durant.

We’re going to need a massive contribution from our bench to stand a chance IMO.

Ball, Bridges, Oubre, and Martin will need to play almost flawless defense in order to give us a pretty good chance.

gotta catch the geezer Nets sleeping with a 4pm Sunday start and come out fast
if Terry is out I think it would be a good chance to catch them off guard and start Bouknight. Feel like we're way too likely to just get left in the dust in the 1st quarter if we start Oubre again

This team is pretty damn good on offense when guys move off the ball and we have Melo and Hayward finding them, but even still we can't outscore the Nets. So yeah you're right, if we're going to beat them we'll have to execute on defense. Thankfully, their frontcourt isn't the best, so we have a chance if we can work to make sure they have to hit tough shots.

Look for us to be down 38-26 after the first quarter and work our way back into the game over the next 2 quarters

I do think this is one of those games when Washington should contribute more than 12 points. So that should help.

We match up pretty well with them.

Take out Durant and Harden and their starting line up isn’t very impressive. It’s just that Durant and Harden are SUPER impressive.

They have the types of vets on their bench that some want us to have (Mills, Millsap and Aldridge) but with our youth and effort I think we can run them off the court.

It’ll all come down to Miles being able to contain either Durant or Harden and our bench blowing the doors of their bench IMO.

I'm glad we are catching them early because it seems Harden isn't in playing shape yet, and he traditionally kills us, more so than Durant does

Remember Aldridge going for like 50 against us last year. Just hope the old man's slowed down.

Shooters love to play us. We gave up more 3pa than any other team last season (3rd most made three's) and we saw Chris Duarte get a little spicy from outside in game one (6/9 from 3). Luckily the Cavs didn't have any shooters on their roster but the Nets got Joe Harris and Patty Mills (who's 10/10 from three this season) in addition to Durant and Harden. Kinda expect their stars to go off, will be interested to see if we can keep their shooters in check

Need to run, run, run. The Nets are too old and their depth is too thin to compete in a track meet. If the Hornets control the tempo and keep things moving they can pull the upset.

Two games in a row they've come out slow and sloppy, letting the opponent take control early

If they let the Nets get up a big early lead, I see them running away with it. They aren't the Pacers/Cavs of the world.

They could also decide an early season game against Charlotte on a Sunday afternoon isn't worth getting up for and let the home team slug it out.

kicker is Harden. The strip club scene around Charlotte is lackluster so he probably wasn't out all night making it rain. Look for him to show up

Also worth mentioning that Melo has had to sit extended time in both games due to early foul trouble (3 fouls before halftime both games).

if he matches up on Harden and picks up early fouls then it could be a serious uphill fight

I haven’t watched a Nets game this season - have the new rules introduced this season that were meant to stop dudes like Harden and Young milk soft and consistent fouls been doing their job?

Or is Harden still pulling that rip through, leg out, lean in B.S. and getting calls for it?

currently at his lowest FTA/G in a decade but it's only been a week and he's a slow starter

I think this is a very winnable game for charlotte. The nets arent interested in a #1 seed, but staying healthy. We arent going to go all out. we were awful the first 2 games. low energy and early deficits. it is extremely like the same happens tonight.

harden/KD could always take over, but Nash is trying to keep them to under 30 minutes a game if he can. for load management. an early weekend game the nets are certain to mail in and play with low effort. vs a young team, all they need to do i splay hard

I think hornets win something like 115-110
