Plumlee and the New Orleans pick for Nerlens Noel?

Is Noel even any good anymore? His stats look pretty bad beside the shotblocking

Heat fan here.

“Rumors” that PJ Washington is available, any particular reason why? Seems like a good glue guy stretch 4. Thanks.

Reallocation of resources. Hornets need a starting center. Hornets are deep at the 4 with Miles due a near max potentially. Jalen McDaniels is a bridge to JT Thor who profiles as a 4/5 like PJ with worse offense but better defense. Defense seems a prime area for concentration of investments right now. Thor has potential to become elite on that end.

Half of the trades for a center are for players actually inferior to Plumlee.

Noel was looking pretty good about a year ago. I don’t know what’s going on with the Knicks this season which is why I was asking for some insight.

My assumption is that he’d be an upgrade on the defensive end, a downgrade on the offensive end but then again he is a way better FT shooter than Plumlee and he doesn’t play with a playmaker anywhere near the level of LaMelo so maybe there could be something there or maybe not. The number of Knicks games I’ve watched this season is exactly zero (0).

Trade adjustment…

PJ for Noel and a protected 1st

We get more size and shot blocking in the center rotation while keeping Plumlee and our picks while also gaining a pick. The Knicks are out here trading picks away to make a playoff push. Noel and Robinson are redundant, PJ adds a new dimension as a stretch big that can space the floor for Randle and Barrett

My final offer would be Plumlee straight up. Noel is owed 2 more years. Plumlee has one partially guaranteed for 4-5 million. Hornets would be taking on money here for possibly a lateral move.

Nah I would pass on this personally. Bamba is intriguing but he is about to be expensive and seems like RJ is a JAG until he figures out a role to play in the league.

Thinking outside box for trades, Rozier becomes eligible to trade tomorrow.

Hornets send Rozier and Plumlee to Kings for Buddy Hield and Richaun Holmes
-Hield would still give us shooting we would miss and his contract is more favorable than Terry. Holmes is our guy we
missed out on off-season. To be honest, don't really get why Kings would do this deal so its probably no bueno

Zubac, Kennard and Keon Johnson for Rozier
- Clippers aren't going anywhere right now, could see them sell of some pieces like Batum, Zubac, Jackson, Morris or
Kennard. They were rumored to be big fans of Rozier before, they might like the thought of pairing Rozier with PG and
Kawhi heading into next season. Hornets get cost controlled center in Zubac, a young prospect they could develop or
flip in Keon and then Kennard fills a role as a shooter playing next to LaMelo. Not sure I love it. Could maybe find a
different deal with clippers that makes more sense.

Rozier for Derrick White and Poetl
-White is a better defender than Terry and could fill the role of a defensive guard but with more scoring than Martin.
Poetl is an upgrade at center on defensive end and on boards. Spurs need a go to scorer between Keldon and Murray.
Honestly we might not be getting enough in this deal.

Plumlee and Kai for Bamba
Magic are looking for a first for Bamba, which is what essentially Kai is. They eat Plumlee contract next season for us
and it gives us room to resign Bamba to a team friendly deal this summer like 4/50

According to Michael Scotto of Hoops Hype, the Pacers want "two first-round picks or a promising young player and a first-round pick" in exchange for Myles Turner.

If Sac is actually moving Holmes I would go for him

Holmes works better with LaMelo and our offense IMO
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Also I can totally see Indy listening to Carlisle and trading Sabonis and keeping Turner

The problem with trying to get Turner too, is I think there is a lot of teams interested in him.

-Timberwolves are a team I could see tossing 2 firsts for him and they have a lot of dummy contracts in Prince and Bev.
-Knicks have young pieces like Toppin and Quickley and they own Dallas first in 2023 they can use. They can toss in Noel contract
-Warriors have wiseman, moody
-Blazers could do Nurkic and Simmons but that seems kinda weird given where they are as a team

Toronto, Lakers and Dallas seem to lack pieces to make a move work

If I had to bet on a deal to get done. I would say Wolves give them Prince, Okogie and 2 firsts.

Minnesota 40%
Knicks 20%
Charlotte 20%
Indy 15%
Other 5%

Sabonis is really their only player that makes a difference, if they deal him I think they will be a bottom 6 team.

I actually think Zubac, Jackson and Batum for Rozier and McDaniels is the ideal deal for me.
- Jackson is on a team friendly deal for most part at 2/21.5 essentially. Batum is a better shooting version of McDaniels
and essentially we would be paying him 11 million if you factor in dead money and that is actually close to a fair
contract for him. Lastly Zubac would instantly be our starting center.

New Rotation
LaMelo (33)- Jackson (15)
Martin (24)- Jackson (12)- Oubre (12)
Hayward (32)- Oubre (16)
Bridges- (32)- Batum (16)
Zubac (28)- PJ (20)

Zubac isn't worth that and Batum is 10000% not coming back here

Rozier to Jackson is a pretty massive downgrade.

You could promise me a full weekend to have my way with Sommer Ray, and I'd still tell you to GFY if it meant Batum coming back to Charlotte.

No thanks
