What would a trade of Rozier/Hayward to Cleveland for expiring contracts of Lavert/Love look like? This trade makes the Cavaliers better now and going forward, and gets rid of salary for Hornets. What do Cavs add?

I think the Cavs would laugh at the idea they should give up picks to take on Hayward

Possibly, so like I asked before, what would a deal look like? Hayward has one year left after this year they would take on. If healthy he fits nicely and is a nice upgrade at SF for them in the playoffs. Terry being a nice upgrade over LeVert counts here too

There are two types of teams in the NBA right now when it comes to paying players.
Good teams, teams that don't pinch pennies, and understand how to navigate the NBA cap at a high level with sign and trades

vs bad teams, cheap teams who would rather operate in the limited world of Free Agency and the Salary Cap

Clippers are a team that said, we can get Norman Powell and Robert Covington for nothing? Yes, let's just go get them and collect talent and assets. We can always use them in trades later. They are team 1.

We have seen the same thing with other smart teams like Warriors. That would rather have guys as salary place holders than lose a player for nothing. Examples being DLo or Wiggins. Cap space is a trap in today's NBA to being a bad team and ultimately will leave you at a roster disadvantage when you are paying 135 million and then you look up in standings and the best teams are navigating cap and can have payrolls 170 million.

These are the type of teams that will see value in Rozier.

Not the teams who are saying man... Rozier makes 23 million a year? He is only worth 18 million. We don't want him.

I mean just look at the discrepancy... https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/
It takes years of adding talent to reach 170+ million. Then you have teams who live in the world of... yay we have 10 million in cap space before we reach 130 million. Should we use that to sign a 3rd string center and point guard? then do same thing next summer.

If this report has any merit, how about Jae Crowder's expiring and unprotected FRP for Terry? Fair? Works straight up but suppose we could try to pry Landale or Craig out of them as well in an effort to collect assets - still would work salary wise.

Landale is the one Aussie I'm not fussed on, a little soft to be a centre in the NBA.

Honestly know very little about him - haven't seen him play - but soft Aussie sounds oxymoronic and we don't need more oxymorons.

If we got a pick to move Terry we should do it immediately. I would reroute Jae and get more picks if possible. One guy I would want from the Suns in that deal would be Shamet. Good shooter off the bench and we dont have those guys, plus it frees up a starting spot at the 2 guard

I don't see this team making a big trade or doing much. The last time we had multiple big expiring deals at the deadline, we chose to sit out and cut them cause we needed to preserve cap space (which was used, plus stretching Batum, to sign Hayward). Only way this changes is if Mitch is stepping down and we focus on retooling over the summer

Yeah I doubt we were in last place, nor were there multiple reports we were sellers.

Would be shocked if we don't make at least 1 deal. Expecting 2 deals though. 3 deals? No way.

if they anticipate Melo being down for an extended period, then I don't see Terry getting moved.

I think we like DSJ and Maledon enough that it wouldn't really matter.

Realistic deal I could see happening since Mitchell Robinson got hurt for a month.

Plumlee and Bouknight for Rose (TO) and 2025 Bucks first.

I'm not sure what to make of the PJ news. Does that mean their view of Miles changed?

I'm assuming they'd view miles as our future 3 with oubre and Hayward on the block. Who knows though

I think it means their view on Miles is that he will be cheaper to resign now that he would've been pre-situation.

Any interest dealing for Rui Hachimura? Wizards are looking for trade options, and he’s a restricted FA. I don’t watch much of his work but seems like a guy ready to break out in a change of scenery. Could we S&T Miles as a swap? I think Bridges is a more explosive player but he has his baggage. Not sure if he would be a plus defensively.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Rozier to the Suns for Cowder, Saric, and Suns 1st

We get two expirings and a late 1st
Suns get Rozier who can start and help keep them afloat allowing Paul and Booker time to recover. When they're healthy Rozier becomes a valuable 6th man
