Serious question, because I don’t know. When is the last time a lottery pick was traded in the first half of their first season? Obviously excluding draft night trades.

Seems like it doesn’t happen often, but I can’t even think of the last one.

PJ and a protected 2023 first for Valenciunas. And even with that I think we might be giving up too much. Legit stretch bigs even with PJs faults are hard to find.

PJ, Plumlee, the fake 1st NOLA gave us for Graham (likely to be a mid 30s pick and another 2nd in 2024) is probably as far as we should go.

The main issue that we have is that we didn’t sign Drummond. We could have had him for one year and we probably would have been #1 or #2 in the Eastern Conference right now.

Washington and a first round pick for Jonas Valanciunas and Herbert Jones. We already know why we need Jonas, but we would also need Jones to not only NOT overpay, but also to get a player that is capable of guarding lockdown type of defense with ALL positions.

Money doesn’t work with just PJ as Valanciunas is on $14 mill. In saying that, I think New Orleans would have to cut players to make it legal.

Call me rash, but I’d definitely consider trading bouknight and Kai for a good centre.

I cant see any good targets though

At this point I think Mitch is perfectly OK seeing what happens with one of Carey, Kai, and Richards and trusting our player development.

Simmons would solve quite a bit of our defensive woes anyway in my opinion. Our perimeter defense is just as bad, it's just not glaring on the boxscore.

Part of that is due to the fact that our guards produce hella offense which tends to offset their defensive flaws.

Unrealistic and money doesn't work without some crazy stuff happening but just in concept based on value - would you be willing to trade Terry + 1st for Kyrie?

Nope.

I like TRo for what he brings to the team with his on court production, but also how he fits in and contributes to the culture.

We already have one potential distraction with LaVar, I don't want to bring another dude in who can bring all that bad press with him in Irving.

Irving is a good player, I just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze with him and the uptick from TRo to him doesn't justify all the baggage that comes along with the player.
