GT: Charlotte @ San Antonio - Dec 15th 8:30pm

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Tue Dec 14, 2021 4:52 pm

I have no idea if the Spurs are good, bad of indifferent.

They were so good for so long with Parker and Manu and Duncan etc that they have just totally fallen off my radar these last 5 years.

I think they have good guard play with Murray and White?

What else do they have going for them?

I don't know who their center is but he's about to light our ass up

Poeltl. 7’1” and 245. The Spurs have mostly been pleased with him this year. Pop occasionally chews on him. Good mobility, can move out to the perimeter on D. An unusually good screener. Can do pick and roll. Does not shoot from long range. Doesn’t post up, not a power type of center. Shoots a high percentage near the basket. A reliable passer, usually secure with the ball.

12.4 ppg, 9.1 rebs, 2.7 ast, 1.6 blk.

Please be nice and do not foul him. At least, not a shooting foul. FT% of .353. Three.Five.Three. Thank you.

Mason Plumlee sees your .353 and raises you a .346

That’s Three.FOUR.Six

Good heavens, it is! Holy smokes. It’s amazing. Poeltl is 18/51 and Plumlee is 18/52.

This calls for a shootout. A special event. A free throw shooting contest with Poeltl, Plumlee, and a random person from the audience. The random person would have a great chance to win. But I guess Plumlee is out, is that right? Too bad.

good thing we will soon have roster spots to burn. let's get into the bonus and then let Vernon Carey and Nick Richards burn twelve fouls apiece hacking Poeltl. He'll go like 9/24

Cody is playing his way into must start. We have a lot of options if Mitch wants to consolidate trade

We are looking like Houston when Houston played us and couldn't miss from range!

Nice to be on the other side of a shooting onslaught.

Of course you take that shot PJ.

Everyone else is hot as hell yet you just have to try and get your 3pt shot.

Idiot.

Never fails, I thought we would have a sub-30 defensive first quarter but every time the opposing team miraculously hits 3 shots in the final 40 seconds to get above 30 points

I know that's nitpicking after a +15 first quarter but if we are gonna get anywhere this season we need to fix this defense, man. East is too tough and playing the leagues worst defense means we will miss the playoffs

JB is going to have to get super creative with his line ups once we are fully healthy again.

No way can Thing #1 not be getting 30+ mpg.

Do you think the team regrets giving Terry that contract with the unexpected boom of Cody? I think our most balanced lineup is Ball/Martin/Bridges/Hayward at the 1-4. Lots of size, shooting and physicality.
