Getting pretty close to a must win game with teams around us in the standings continually winning and us on a losing streak.

Miami is a tough team to get a bounce back win against.

Has a team ever allowed a 20/20 game in back to back nights?

Grabbed a look at the box score. Halftime lead and the shooting improved for some. Man, Gordo needs to do stuff other than shoot. Rough return in the last 2 games. Oubre not any better.

It would be really nice if more than 1 or 2 of our players can play well at in any given game

We have 5 players that average 15-20ppg yet they hardly ever do that in the same game.

James Borrego, welcome to your Dunlap moment!

Wow, I wonder what is going to happen here. Is this serious enough to cut the rookie, or make a move with him at the deadline? Or is this on Borrego you think? Not sure how serious the implications might be.

I just think the players need another voice, whatever Borrego is doing isn't working. They keep doing the same dumb ****
Maybe an assistant staff overhaul in the offseason

There were murmurs of a similar sideline incident between LaMelo and Borrego a couple weeks ago iirc. Seems like he has been tuned out. Maybe 80s Stallone references he stole from Popovich don't connect with the kiddos anymore like they did with Duncan and Manu

Ahh, yes. I remember Melo sat for one game with a mysterious illness that wasn’t covid, and he just sat on the bench all game. It was odd, maybe that’s the time you’re referring to?

Always felt JB fit more as a developmental assistant coach but not head coach. It is really looking like he is losing the team

I'm not really surprised about Bouknight, he has a legitimately gripe with his role this season at least partially imo, he hasn't been given much of a real chance all year. Maybe there are Monk type off the floor things going on playing into that, not drugs ofc, just meaning general crappy attitude. People have said that's the vibe he put off in the g league and tbh he kinda gives that vibe in interviews, just seems like kind of a antisocial unpleasant person

Impossible to know what’s happening but a losing streak builds pressure, and as Gill always said on the Hornet’s radio broadcasts, “pressure pops the pipe”. BOUK isn’t getting minutes. He deserves some and that’s got to be frustrating.
I’ve said this team needs a shake up. Not massive, but there is a talent gap, a massive need for a good center, and some poor coaching. Same old crap isn’t cutting it. Small ball is a loser. PJ is a big Kleenex that can’t or won’t bang consistently down low (“popular guys shoot three’s….). Oubre has had insanely good nights and insanely horrible ones. Ish is possibly our best bench player next to Cody, and both are utility knives at best. Gordon always takes a week or more to get back in sync from his injury layoffs.
And now we have bad vibes/chemistry within the team.
Mitch…make a key trade or make a move with the coach. Don’t lose Miles and later Melo with this kind of crap.

Listen, the Heat does this to people. They beat you and then they beat you. Let's not get too outta whack with this loss.
As for Bouknight and Borrego, they should be showing some frustration. The season is slipping away and the team as a whole isn't mature enough to deal with it. It's the fun bunch from the summer when shots are dropping and the wins come in bunches. But the roster is fatally flawed and they simply don't have the leader(s) to push them through when the losses begin to really hurt.
There is no savior coming by the trade deadline, but, hey, this was a loss to the #2 team in the conference - a team that has the fundamental balance of talent, experience and leadership to win and win consistently. There is no shame in losing to this team. Frustration, yeah, but no shame.

Miles did not go through that at all, he was basically handed 20+ minute per game role from day 1 iirc lol
Of course LaMelos minutes are all over the place to this day
