Re: BFHOS - LANCE STEPHENSON
this is an easy yes for me. has any player ever gone from marquee free agent signing, expected all-star, to the team trying to bench and unload the player within 2 months?
dude was a trainwreck from day 1.

Re: BFHOS - LANCE STEPHENSON
i'd never been so stoked for a free agent signing
I voted yes, but he has by far the best highlight reel of anybody I'd vote yes for- even in that awful season he had some cool moments:

investigate Adam Silver

its frustrating to see how much talent he had. just couldnt function off the ball next to kemba. couldnt shoot to save his life that year.

Was stoked to have him and MKG on the wing together. Just a trainwreck

the voting logic by some of y'all is so weird.
He gets a no from me. He didn't quit on the team and didn't cause trouble and didn't have long term repercussions.

the painful thing about Lance was that it was one of the few years we were justified in having excitement about potentially being good. his year is sandwiched between 43 and 48 win seasons. he wasn't just meh or "didnt live up to expectations", he measurably tanked one of the few decent cores we ever had when everyone expected the exact opposite

Re: BFHOS - LANCE STEPHENSON
that wasn't because he was a bad apple or quit on the team
he was just put in a role he wasnt ready for with expectations he couldn't live up to.
If he had quit on the team like Diaw or Batum, or had beef with the team/coach, etc. then sure.

Re: BFHOS - LANCE STEPHENSON
Disagree... there were reports as early as December of that year that Lance was a locker room disruption.
He wasn't mentally or physically ready for the start of that season and it showed quickly.

Re: BFHOS - LANCE STEPHENSON
We had to dump him for hawes, getting terrible value. We then had to dump hawes for miles plumlee who we had to dump for Dwight who we had to dump for biz. It set off a domino effect of terrible moves.

but then Miles Plumlee helped the Perth Wildcats win a championship, so there is a silver lining.

Lance is a scientific phenomenon, for some unknown reason, he only plays well for Indiana.

Voted no. Didn't cost us a pick or anything, only played a season with us and then we were able to flip him for Jeremy Lamb. I would have put Tyrus and Sean May in over Lance

all of which were the fault of the GM, and none of which belonged to Lance

ha my bad. Those moves happened all around the same time
regardless we were able to move on from him pretty easily. Unlike Tyrus were we had to trade a first to get him and then use our amnesty to get rid of him

iirc we dumped Matt Barnes for Ridnour who was dumped for a TPE and acquired Lamb using said TPE
