BFHOS - STEPHEN JACKSON DRUNK GAME

Post#1 » by fatlever » Thu Apr 14, 2022 9:50 pm

something a bit more fun to discuss...
the infamous "drunk game" from /jax where he played so bad it can only be concluded he stayed out all night partying in LA. he straight ruined a brilliant game from Wallace and we lost by 4. he would not stop shooting or trying to make plays, instead of letting crash carry us. side note... i'd kill for crash on the current hornets. i'd take him over miles/hayward any day.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201002220LAC.html

1-for-16 fgs, 5 turnovers, 6 fouls. yet brown still rolled with a 7-man rotation. Crash plated 48 mins.

can anyone find a game thread for this? video? all we have is old-timer memories.

I like Larry but I have to question his logic on why he kept going to Jackson who smelt like booze when he arrived at the arena.

Diop wrote:once Jackson loses his head like that, you just have to bench him.

BigSlam wrote:This just in - Game is over, Bobcats lost, but Jax is still shooting and missing.

ball teacher wrote:The Clippers are a good team, but the Bobcats gave this away. Up 4, with a few minutes left, Jacksons missed shots took all the momentum from the team. Can't believe Larry didn't continue to feed Wallace or Diaw!

ball teacher wrote:Larry should have stopped forcing it to Jackson down the stretch, that killed Charlotte.

fatlever wrote:thank you jackson. 100% your fault.

BigSlam wrote:Oh yeah, and Jax had his worst game as a Bobcat.

That's what cost us the game.

BigSlam wrote:Jax making Jamison's 1st game with the Cavs look like an MVP effort.

fatlever wrote:6 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, 2 blocks - usually a line like that is enough for a player to get lots of props........ except when they go 1 for 15 and have 5 turnovers.

unrelated

SERIOUSLY.

if you insist on trying to score drive hard.

no more contested jumpshots

BigSlam wrote:He can do other things. He should focus on playing awesome D, rebounding and making sound passes to Crash or Boris or Felts over these final 5 1/2 mins and NOT take any more shots unless it is an open lay up.

BigSlam wrote:Jesus Christ Jackson.

STOP SHOOTING THE MOTHER **** BALL.

Diop wrote:for **** sake jack!!

fatlever wrote:jackson is single-handedly going to lose us this game.

BigSlam wrote:Have the Bobcats been in LA long enough for Jax and Davis to get on the sauce?

I don't know who pissed in Jack's cheerios tonight, but he is horrible tonight.

i went Yes

For the longest time, Jax talked about how he made love to pressure and how he belonged in the conversation with the best and how he had no fear.

This game was the physical manifestation of Blind Confidence. the Anti-Diaw If you will.

i truly don't know if he was actually drunk or if he just said "**** it, I'm Stephen Jackson" and just went for it.

The fact that he was allowed to get away with that sort of game is indicative of all the things wrong with the Franchise at that time.

I loved Jack and I'd kill to have Bobcats Jackson on this roster right now, but that might've been THE worst unintentionally bad game by a main guy in Bobnets history.

i voted yes, even though its a fun memory now, he was truly bewildering seeing a player constantly chuck like that.
