do officials have it out for melo? he gets no calls. every game refs miss 2-3 blatant fouls when he goes to rim. every. game. almost never see him get benefit of typical phantom fouls most stars get either.

Definitely agree, Melo mostly seems to get the short end of the stick. I assumed it was a rookie thing in 2020-2021, and last year I wrote it off as not being an established star yet, but by now it has become a bit concerning.

Cliff probably needs to do some lobbying on his behalf pointing out this shortfall.

She's in the running for "Miss NBA" again after winning last year.

Lauren is a worthy contender, but for me it's Ashley hands down. The basketball gods have given this fan base Ashley and Stephanie Ready because they know our poor suffering souls have needed those rays of sunshine through the dark times.

Playing with fire finally burnt us.

Guy had multiple ankle injuries and we kept playing him despite being a bottom 5 team.

Hopefully this doesn't become an issue long term.

It was worth it to secure a top 27 record.

He's been injured or playing injured the entire season.

Whoever thought it was a good idea to keep playing him in a lost season needs to be fired.

Players play, he most likely wanted nothing more than to hoop.

Of course he does. But that doesn't mean he should be allowed to hurt himself more.

If Melo gets long term ankle issues and we don't get Wemby, this is the worst season we've had since the 7 win season.

If we were actually playing for something this would be devastating. It's a long off-season, get your ankle issues resolved LaMelo and heal up for next year.

Now we tank...

It would be bad for Wemby and the NBA if Charlotte won the lottery. The "rub some dirt on it and get back out there" medical strategy could be disastrous for him.

Look at the lengths New Orleans has had to go to kind of keep Zion healthy. Wemby is probably going to need a similar amount of caution and its hard to imagine the Hornets having him sit out games and take his time recovering like that. Its hard to even imagine them getting on board with the strength/condition strategy Wemby is following where he doesn't lift weights and specifically is avoiding trying to bulk up. If they get him hopefully Wemby's camp will have enough power to force the Hornets hand on these things because hes such a high profile talent.

A history of rolled ankles isn't a harbinger of a fracture

Injuries happen, he could of not played the rest of the year and the same thing happened next year... then everyone would be saying "he should of had surgury in the offseason, this was probably lingering"...

You just don't know, guys play through minor injuries all the time. Nobody is out there running around midseason in perfect health.

What a mess. Did the team pushed Melo to play? I’ve seen no visual evidence of him favoring anything on the move. There is, however, one caveat to that statement. Remember how Hayward’s wife was complaining about how they managed Gordon’s injuries? We know Ball came back only to reinsure his ankles several times. Is this a culture issue within the organization? Pushing into the playoffs….sure…play hurt if not serious. Nearly dead last team? STUPID.

Ankles are testy issues once injured. The tendons get stretched out, and even when they’ve healed, they can tend to be weaker than normal. I suspect this is Ball’s issue. Tonight all that support gave out, and the bones took the brunt of it.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.
