I seriously doubt there is any trade out there for our pricey surplus that helps us. Rozier needs to be swapped for a taller defensive specialist who can score a little bit.

The taller defensive specialist is already on the team - Cody Martin. He isn't the long-term answer (that guy is in this year's draft) but when it comes to team performance he's a better fit than Rozier.

CP would come off the bench as our backup point guard. And he is fully unguaranteed next season, we'd have $60 million coming off the books next summer.

Suns have no picks to give up.
Honestly, they should have kept Bridges, Johnson and tried to move a pick and Shamet for Terry at the deadline.
That team probably would have been better off vs Denver.
Plus they would still have a lot of future picks.

Suns don't have anything I'd want. Ayton is a disaster at the moment. No picks. They screwed themselves.

I would trade Rozier and Richards for Paul in a nanosecond. Rozier is negative value for this team IMO and the sooner we get out of that contract and also the fact we have to start him next to LaMelo because Clifford the better.

Rozier needs to go to a good defensive team who needs a 4th scorer.
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

I could if they lose sunday, they will need a re-shuffle and Mazzula prefers offense over defense. Also lead apron will hit this team hard without shedding some $$$

Richards is trade restricted till September 23rd due to his extension.

I'd happily offload Martin to do it as well.

I think y'all are overestimating Paul. He doesn't fit next to Melo so he's the most expensive backup in the league who is at least a step slower than before, when he's even healthy.

That doesn't even factor into how he'd take being a backup on a bad team after a decade or so on playoff teams

If we trade Rozier for Paul, Paul is a buyout guy who wouldn't want to play here (not to mention his terrible contract). Which is why we need assets to come our way if we get him.

That's the thing. Suns don't have any assets, and trading for Ayton when we have Williams would be just insanity. Only way they could pull it off would be a three team deal.

He's not even a buyout guy because he has two years left

He only has half a year left of guaranteed money - 15 million. The other 15 he's owed becomes guaranteed if he isn't cut before the new season starts. The entire next season (after this next one) is unguaranteed.

ahh okay that makes it more palatable to get out of Terry's deal but I still wouldn't be sending money out. we aren't hurting that bad right now for doll hairs

By all accounts we value Rozier and view him as a key player. So we aren't just going to give him away.

its way too many good coaches on the open market to be sitting on the big red dog.

The lottery results were a massive stroke of luck for this team. Not only are we in the position to draft whoever we want (other than Wemby). We were also the only Eastern conference team to move up or land in the top 4. Detroit got utterly hosed and the Magic/Pacers/Wizards all stayed at the same draft position.
