My "didn't watch college basketball but dat statline" candidate is Trayce Jackson-Davis. Dude averaged 21 pts, 11 boards, 4 ast, 3 blk, 1 stl. 6'9" with a 7'2" wingspan and + athleticism. Apparently he's older and can't shoot so great.
Give me some other people to start researching.

I think he could be a solid pick for someone, but we really don't need another center after resigning Nick.
I think we could use a defensive guard.
Sharp shooter on the wing.
Really any type of PG especially if we move Terry.
I would lean for a young developmental guy (get the 4 years + RFA)
Then with our 2nds look at the upperclassmen.

What about the opposite and shooting for Dereck Lively? Apparently he was the #2 recruit in his class and averaged 4.2 blocks per 36.

Julian Phillips, JHS, Amari Bailey, Jordan Walsh and Jett Howard are my top 5 right now. Should have 2-3 on the board still.

I just have a hard time seeing where we have minutes to develop him. Even if we moved off of Kai Jones it still isn't super clear.
He also is probably gone in the 15 range.

Mark and Nick + Random old vet to show them the way is more than adequate at C

Dariq Whitehead and Julian Phillips both project as great 3 & D prospects with plus athleticism and size/length. If we draft Scoot I'd trade all 4 of our other picks to make sure we grab one of them.

Zach Edey - monster physical profile (7'3'' barefoot with a 7'10'' wingspan and 9'7'' standing reach and 306 lbs), monster production last year as the college player of the year (22 pts 12.9 reb 2.1 blk 64% true shooting), was also Mark Williams backup in high school at img

How many threes did he make?

BPA unless the talent tier is similar, then draft on fit.
Personally I'm hoping some combination of us trading up from 27 and the seconds happens and Jordan Hawkins somehow falls enough for us to take him. Unlikely but I'm hoping.
I also like Brandin Podziemski but it might be a slight reach at 27 and we could possibly get him at 34.

Podz is going to be a top 20 guy when all said and done.
He played well in scrimmages and measured a bit better than expected.

Draft stats say that swinging on those 4 picks has better odds of actually hitting a starter then a mid-first round pick.

I'm also not adverse to us kicking this pick down the road a year for a lotto protected future first from a likely playoff team, even if we have to throw in #39 or #41 this year
We will likely convey a first to San Antonio for the Jones pick as soon as next year if we resign Miles and draft Scoot or Miller.
I really don't want to have zero firsts in next year's draft.
Obviously assuming no one knocks our socks off that is available at 27.

Hawkins will be late lottery, but I'd be in favor of making a Terry deal and 27 to get him. I like him that much.
But at 27, I take Terquavion Smith and not look back.

I like Julian Strawther out of Gonzaga. 6'7 wing with a quick release. Shot 80/196 (.408) from three this season and plays defense

And what are the odds of this team being able to develop and give opportunities to all 4? Slim to none, consolidation or trading for future picks is necessary.

If J. Walsh is available, i dont think you can pass on him at #27 because he will be gone even for the early 2nd picks. Defensive wing is a key for this team to reach the next level and even if his shoot/offense is a challenge, you dont need him to score to have an impact in this (future) team.
If he's already gone, you pick the bpa wing (young with defense/playmaking upside).

I think we would have to move up a bit but I still think GG Jackson could be a good get. He has the right athletic profile for a modern 4 and he has potential as a shooter. He is young and needs to mature but he could be a late first steal if he lives up to the hype he had in high school.
